Complex Care Assistant – Paediatric Specialist

Nursing Direct are looking for a Complex Care Assistant – Paediatric Specialist
You’ll work as a Complex Care Assistant supporting a young person with complex needs in their family home in Coulsdon. You’ll deliver structured 1:1 paediatric care and develop clinical skills in a small, focused team.

What you’ll do

Provide 1:1 care at home and in the community.

Manage PEG-J feeding, medication and bowel care.

Provide tracheostomy care and support BiPAP ventilation during night shifts.

Assist with moving, handling and personal care tasks.

Support daily routines, education and social activities.

Monitor comfort and safety, report changes and follow care plans.

What you need

Enhanced Child DBS or willingness to obtain.

CPR / BLS training or willingness to train.

Willingness to complete training in seizure support, PEG-J feeding, medication administration, bowel care and moving and handling.

Willingness to train in tracheostomy and ventilation care.

Preferred

Experience supporting young people with dystonia.

Experience with alternative communication methods.

Shift pattern

Friday and Saturday nights: 12-hour shifts.

Monday and Wednesday days: 10.5-hour shifts.
