Job Summary

Not all care companies are the same! We support you and the customers in a different way.....

We have an excellent career opportunity for the role of Home Care Assistant to join our Bluebird Care team.

Are you kind? Compassionate? A people person? Love making a difference in people's lives? Do you get a real thrill from helping other people? Are you selfless, honest and a polite person? Then we can offer you the perfect role where you will genuinely make a difference, every day!

This post is open to female applicants only, as being female is deemed to be a genuine occupational qualification under Section 29, Schedule 3 7 (27-7) of the Equality Act 2010.

This is a review left by one of our team who has just completed her probation period with us:

"Bluebird Belper are such a lovely company to work for. All of the managers there are kind, supportive, approachable, considerate and truly care about both their staff and their customers. Colleagues are always willing to help you learn and share best practices.
Having previously worked in an office for 30 years, this is a new career for me, and it is so rewarding being able to make a difference to people’s lives -no two days are ever the same."

Pay: We have an excellent pay rate of £13.10 an hour, plus paid travel time (not all care companies pay this) and £19.65 per hour on bank holidays.

We also include reasonable paid travel time, so that you are not rushing between calls and mileage paid at 35p per mile.

Hours: Guaranteed hours are available

Flexible working: We work flexibly to suit both our team and the people we care for.

All team members work some unsocial hours and must work alternate weekends - both Saturday and Sunday.

Locations we work: We work in areas such as Belper, Ripley, Horsley Woodhouse, Little Eaton, Allestree, Wirksworth, Ambergate and Cromford, so we probably have work in your area! We are also expanding into the Matlock area, so we are building a new team to work in this area.

We are not recruiting from Derby, Nottingham or Ashbourne.

Why choose to work with us at Bluebird Care:

  • You will be supported by an excellent care management team
  • You will receive full training to carry out your role
  • You will start your role by shadowing other team members, so you have confidence in your new care role.
  • Living Wage Accredited Employers who pay above the National Living Wage
  • CQC Outstanding-rated service
  • Private customers have time to engage properly with the customers, rather than just completing tasks
  • Excellent training with a dedicated training manager

  • Average call length – one hour
  • Qualification opportunities
  • Career progression in a growing service

A little bit more about who we are:

We started Bluebird Care in 2013 on the high street in Belper to deliver excellent quality care to our community, allowing people who choose to use our service to live as contented and as independent a life as possible.

It is a privilege to be part of people’s lives and very rewarding when we experience the positive reactions to our care from customers and their families.

Our Directors, Susan and Philip, are passionate about supporting people, and as a team, we want to work with others who are as driven as we are in caring for amazing people. As a team, we have created a culture where our team genuinely love what they do, feels supported, and often stays working with us for many years.

We look forward to speaking to you.
