Care assistant

We are currently seeking a kind, patient, mature and experienced female carer to support one of our valued service users — a lovely older lady who thrives with gentle companionship, meaningful conversation, and a calm, reassuring presence.

This role is ideal for someone who genuinely enjoys building relationships, offering emotional comfort, and supporting someone to live well in their own home.

About the Role

This position involves supporting an older lady who enjoys a peaceful routine, friendly company, and carers who take the time to understand her personality, preferences, and interests. She particularly enjoys:

• Familiar routines and gentle encouragement

Your role will be to help her feel safe, supported, and valued every day.

Social Engagement & Companionship

A key part of this role is companionship. The ideal carer will be someone who:

• Enjoys chatting about everyday topics

• Can listen to music with her and talk about songs she enjoys

• Encourages gentle social interaction

• Helps her feel emotionally supported

• Understands the importance of connection and presence

This is not a rushed, task?focused role — it is about quality time, dignity, and emotional wellbeing.

Experience Required

To ensure the highest standard of care, applicants must have:

• Previous experience in care (minimum 1 year preferred)

• Experience supporting older adults

• Confidence with personal care

• Good communication skills

• A caring, compassionate nature

• The ability to work professionally and respectfully

Additional desirable experience:

• Experience supporting individuals with reduced mobility

• Knowledge of person?centred care

• Understanding of safeguarding and dignity in care

Hours & Availability

We will discuss exact hours during the application process, but we are looking for someone who can offer:

• Consistent weekly availability

• Reliability and punctuality

• Flexibility where needed

• A commitment to continuity of care

Location & Travel

The role is based in the local area. Applicants should ideally:

• Live nearby

• Have reliable transport

• Be comfortable travelling to the service user’s home

A driver is preferred
