We are now looking for an ambitious and compassionate Deputy Manager to join our Cambridge team. The Role

As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Operations Manager to support the day-to-day running of our domiciliary care service in Cambridge. You will play a key role in ensuring high standards of care are delivered, supporting and developing care staff, maintaining compliance, and ensuring the smooth operation of the service.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced care environment and is passionate about delivering outstanding care and support.

Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Service Management

  • Support the Operations Manager with the day-to-day management of the domiciliary care service
  • Lead, motivate, and support care staff to deliver safe, effective, and compassionate care
  • Conduct staff supervisions, spot checks, appraisals, and performance management
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention of care staff
  • Assist with rota management and operational planning
  • Promote a positive and supportive team culture

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure services are delivered in line with CQC standards and company policies
  • Support audits, quality checks, and service improvements
  • Monitor care plans and risk assessments to ensure they remain accurate and person-centred
  • Manage safeguarding concerns promptly and appropriately
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation

Client & Staff Support

  • Build positive relationships with clients, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Respond to client queries, concerns, and incidents professionally
  • Provide guidance and support to staff in challenging situations
  • Assist with care reviews and assessments where required

On-Call Duties

  • Participate in the on-call rota covering:
  • 1 in 3 weekday nights
  • 1 in 3 weekends
  • Respond to emergencies, staffing issues, and urgent care concerns outside normal office hours
  • Ensure continuity of care and effective communication during on-call periods

What We’re Looking ForEssential

  • Experience in a senior care, supervisory, or management role within domiciliary care
  • Strong understanding of CQC regulations and safeguarding responsibilities
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and make confident decisions
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle

Desirable

  • Level 3 or Level 5 qualification in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards)
  • Experience supporting or managing care teams
  • Ambition to progress towards a Registered Manager position
