Job Summary
To help assist service users to be as independent as possible within their own homes. The role will personalised to the individual and can include helping with personal care and completing light household tasks. Care responsibilities will also include: To read, understand and be able to follow each Service Users Care plan and risk assessment Assist the service users with general mobility, dressing and undressing, personal hygiene, bathing, oral care, hair, and nails. Check all pressure points for pressure sores and apply appropriate creams. Continence care Assisting with getting out of bed in the morning and getting ready for bed in the nighttime. food preparation at mealtimes and feeding if need be. Companionship and social interaction Assisting with medication Always treat the service user with respect and dignity Encourage them to keep doing the activities of daily living that they can still do, to retain their independence. Maintain good record keeping for the following, service user's care, medication, financial, wound pressure or dietary charts, concern forms, communications logs and accident forms to update the Company database. Escorting service users in preparation and support in going out to do daily activities. Walking, shopping, hair dressing appointments etc. To alert the seniors on any aspects of service user care which they feel warrants investigation or urgent attention. Participate in appropriate training, including NVQ2 and attend staff meetings as requested by the manager/senior care worker To comply with the Care Quality Commission and Company policies and procedures.
