Job Summary
Paediatric Care Assistant
We are looking for a kind, reliable and professional Paediatric Care Assistant to support a child with complex care needs in their family home and local community.
The role involves providing safe, person-centred care as part of an established care team. You will support with daily routines, personal care, mobility, communication, engagement, and general wellbeing. The child requires close supervision and consistent care from staff who are calm, patient, observant and able to follow detailed care plans.
You will be expected to work respectfully within a family home, maintain professional boundaries, complete accurate care records and report any concerns promptly to the senior team. Full training and competency assessment will be provided before any delegated care tasks are undertaken independently.
Duties may include:
- Supporting with personal care and continence care
- Assisting with safe positioning, mobility and use of care equipment
- Supporting daily routines, play, engagement and community access
- Monitoring general wellbeing and reporting any changes
- Following care plans, risk assessments and company policies
- Maintaining dignity, privacy, safety and infection control standards
- Completing accurate records after each visit
- Working in partnership with the family and wider care team
Previous experience in care, children’s services, complex care or supporting people with disabilities would be helpful, but the right values, reliability and willingness to learn are just as important.
Applicants must be willing to complete all required training and competency checks. An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role. This will be arranged as part of the recruitment process.
A female care team may be required due to the personal care, dignity, cultural and religious needs of the child.
