Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Domiciliary Care Workers to provide high-quality in-home care to clients across various age groups and health conditions. This role involves supporting individuals with daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their safety and well-being within their own homes. Experience in assisted living, patient care, or nursing home environments is advantageous. Duties
- Assisting clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Providing medication administration as prescribed and monitoring health conditions
- Supporting meal preparation and ensuring nutritional needs are met
- Assisting with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Managing behaviour and implementing care plans for clients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease
- Engaging clients in meaningful activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being
- Driving clients to appointments or social activities safely using company vehicles
- Maintaining accurate records of care provided and reporting any changes in client health or behaviour
- Supporting clients with household tasks such as light cleaning and laundry
- Responding promptly to emergencies with first aid skills when required
Experience
- Prior experience in assisted living, home care, nursing homes, hospice care, or dementia care is highly desirable
- Knowledge of patient care protocols, medication administration, and behaviour management techniques
- Experience working with elderly or vulnerable adults, including senior care or childcare settings
- Familiarity with Alzheimer's and dementia-specific needs and approaches
- Valid driving licence for client transportation purposes
- Certification in first aid is preferred but not essential; training can be provided for suitable candidates
- Demonstrated ability to handle heavy lifting safely and perform physically demanding tasks
- Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with clients
