Reporting to: Care Coordinator / Registered Manager
Location: Community-based role requiring travel between service users’ homes
About the opportunity
Oncall Care Service Ltd welcomes applications from displaced Skilled Workers currently living in the UK whose previous employer’s sponsor licence has been revoked, suspended or surrendered, or who have otherwise lost their sponsored employment through no fault of their own.
Applicants must currently hold valid UK immigration permission and be able to provide evidence of their immigration status and circumstances.
A full UK driving licence is mandatory for this position. Applications from candidates without a full UK driving licence cannot be considered.

Purpose of the role
The Support Worker will provide safe, compassionate and person-centred care to individuals in their own homes.
You will support service users to maintain their independence, dignity, health and wellbeing while respecting their individual choices, rights, cultural needs and personal preferences.
You will work independently and as part of a wider care team, communicating effectively with service users, relatives, colleagues, social workers and other professionals.
Main duties and responsibilities

Provide care and support in accordance with each service user’s individual care plan.

Support service users with personal care while maintaining their dignity, privacy and preferences.

Encourage service users to maintain their independence and participate in everyday activities.

Support service users to make informed decisions about matters affecting their lives.

Promote physical, emotional, psychological and social wellbeing.
-
Support service users with meal preparation, healthy eating and healthy lifestyle choices.
-
Undertake household tasks while involving the service user as much as possible.

Administer and record medication in accordance with company procedures and the service user’s care plan.

Support service users with managing their personal finances where this is identified in their care plan.

Support service users to access community activities, social opportunities and appointments.

Drive between service users’ homes and, where required, transport or accompany service users.

Complete accurate and timely daily care records, medication records and other required documentation.

Report concerns, incidents, accidents, changes in health and safeguarding matters promptly.

Contact the on-call management team for advice or assistance when required outside normal office hours.

Follow agreed care plans, risk assessments, behavioural support guidance, policies and procedures.

Maintain confidentiality and comply with data-protection requirements.

Promote equality, diversity and anti-discriminatory practice.

Attend supervision, team meetings, training and competency assessments.

Contribute to service-user reviews, reports and updates to care plans when required.

Support the induction and development of new staff where appropriate.
Essential requirements
Applicants must:

Be a displaced Skilled Worker currently living in the UK.
-
Hold a full UK driving licence.
-
Be willing and able to travel between service users’ homes.

Have previous home-care experience.
-
Understand person-centred care and working in accordance with individual care plans.

Have good verbal and written communication skills.
-
Have good record-keeping skills.

Be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Be flexible and available to work a combination of weekdays, evenings and weekends.

Be willing to complete all required training and registration checks.

Have the right to work in the UK at the time of application.
