Join an independent homecare provider that puts people first

Kingsway Care is an established, award-winning independent homecare provider supporting adults across Brighton, Hove and Worthing to live safely, independently and well in their own homes.

We are looking for an experienced Interim Registered Manager to join our leadership team and provide strong operational and regulatory leadership for 12 months, covering a period of planned maternity leave.

You will work closely with our Managing Director, reporting directly to them, and take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the service while continuing to develop our people, quality and homecare provision.

About Kingsway Care

Kingsway Care is an independent domiciliary care provider supporting adults across Brighton & Hove and the surrounding area, including people living with dementia and individuals with complex and changing care needs. We believe high-quality care is about knowing the individual, building trust, and providing care with dignity, consistency and genuine compassion — not simply completing a list of tasks.

We've built our culture around kindness, professionalism, honesty, accountability, teamwork and respect. People are encouraged to speak openly, raise concerns and work together to solve problems, and we're proud of the sense of community and loyalty within our team.

For us, good leadership means being visible, approachable and consistent — creating an environment where people feel supported, while being clear about expectations and accountability. The successful Interim Registered Manager will help maintain that culture during this 12-month period, bringing their own experience and ideas while building on the foundations already in place.

About the role

As Interim Registered Manager, you will provide effective leadership across the service, ensuring that care is safe, responsive, person-centred and consistently delivered to a high standard. You'll maintain strong operational and regulatory oversight while supporting our CareGivers and Office Team.

The role includes:

· Providing strong day-to-day leadership and management of the care service

· Ensuring the service continues to meet CQC regulatory and quality standards

· Leading and supporting the CareGiver and Office Teams

· Monitoring care quality, compliance and safeguarding

· Reviewing care plans and ensuring care remains person-centred and responsive

· Supporting recruitment, induction, supervision and development of staff

· Working closely with clients, families and professionals

· Responding appropriately to concerns, incidents and changes in clients' needs

· Maintaining effective communication across the service

· Using quality assurance and feedback to identify opportunities for improvement

· Working closely with the Managing Director on operational and strategic priorities

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys being visible, approachable and actively involved in the service.

Who we're looking for

We're looking for an experienced Registered Manager who combines strong regulatory knowledge with excellent people skills — someone confident leading a team, making decisions, managing competing priorities and maintaining high standards in a busy homecare environment.

You'll need to be:

· An experienced Registered Manager within adult social care, ideally with domiciliary/homecare experience

· Confident with CQC requirements and regulatory compliance

· An effective and supportive people manager

· Organised, decisive and able to prioritise effectively

· Comfortable managing complex situations and solving problems

· Passionate about person-centred care and promoting independence

· A strong communicator who builds positive relationships with clients, families and professionals

· Committed to safeguarding, quality and continuous improvement

· Comfortable working collaboratively with senior leadership and an experienced Office Team

Most importantly, you'll share our belief that excellent care is about people, relationships and quality of life.

Registered Nurse qualification – highly desirable

A Registered Nurse qualification is not essential for this role, but we would particularly welcome applications from Registered Nurses with strong domiciliary care management experience who can fulfil the requirements of a CQC Registered Manager.

A current NMC registration and clinical nursing experience would be highly desirable, particularly where combined with proven leadership, operational and regulatory management experience within a CQC-regulated homecare service.

For the right candidate, this role offers the opportunity to combine clinical expertise with senior operational leadership within an established and growing homecare provider.

We are particularly interested in candidates who can combine:

  • Strong clinical knowledge and professional judgement
  • Proven leadership and people-management experience
  • A strong understanding of CQC regulation and governance
  • Experience managing or contributing to the management of a CQC-regulated service
  • Experience supporting people with complex and changing care needs
  • Strong risk assessment and person-centred care skills
  • The ability to work effectively with healthcare professionals and external agencies
  • A practical understanding of domiciliary care operations
  • Visible, compassionate and confident leadership

What we offer

· £40,000–£45,000 salary, depending on experience

· Full-time, 12-month fixed-term maternity cover

· Support from an experienced Managing Director and Office Team

· A positive, collaborative working environment

· Access to our Kingsway Care Academy and ongoing professional development

· A strong culture of learning and continuous improvement

· The opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives of clients and their families

· Company Share Ownership because we care about your financial security
