Job Summary
Location: Harrogate, with travel across York, Selby, Leeds, Bradford and surrounding North Yorkshire areas
Contract: Full-time/Part-time including night shifts
Reports to: Registered Manager
AJEB Healthcare Ltd is a CQC-registered domiciliary care provider delivering high-quality, person-centred care to service users across North Yorkshire under contract with North Yorkshire Council.
Job Purpose
To provide safe, compassionate and skilled personal care and support to service users in their own homes, including individuals with complex health needs including tracheostomy care, enabling them to live independently and with dignity.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver personal care (washing, dressing, continence care, mobility support) in line with individual care and support plans
- Provide tracheostomy care, including suctioning, stoma site care, and monitoring for signs of complications, in line with training and care plan instructions
- Recognise and respond appropriately to changes in a service user's condition, escalating concerns promptly
- Support with medication administration as per training and policy
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding, including any specialist feeding requirements
- Maintain accurate, timely visit notes and documentation
- Work flexibly across day and night shifts, including waking nights as required
- Travel independently between service users' homes across the operating area
- Work collaboratively with the wider care team, family members and healthcare professionals
- Follow all AJEB policies on safeguarding, infection control, health and safety, and confidentiality
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience providing tracheostomy care to service users
- Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle (mileage reimbursed)
- Willingness and availability to work night shifts
- Right to work in the UK without requiring sponsorship
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate, professional approach
- Willingness to undertake an enhanced DBS check
Desirable
- NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or working towards)
- Experience with PEG feeding, catheter care, or other complex care needs
- Previous experience in domiciliary/home care settings
