After receiving an unannounced visit in September 2021, Right at Home (Henley, Maidenhead & Windsor) has maintained its ‘outstanding’ rating from its last inspection in May 2019.

MP Theresa May visited the office to celebrate the company’s achievement and congratulated the team for the “tireless work” they had “undertaken” over the course of the coronavirus pandemic.

Ms May said: “I was delighted to visit ‘Right at Home’ to celebrate their fantastic achievement of receiving yet another ‘outstanding CQC rating’.

“I saw first-hand from my visit how much the team at ‘Right at Home’ care about their clients and it is great to see their hard work recognised.

“The last two years have been exceptionally challenging for the entire social care sector, with staff on the front lines in the fight against the Coronavirus. I would therefore like to offer my congratulations on the 'outstanding' CQC rating and to say thank you for the tireless work undertaken by the entire team at Right at Home over the course of the Coronavirus pandemic.”

'I am really proud of the work our team delivers every single day'

In its report, the CQC praised how the service actively worked to promote ‘social inclusion, prevent social isolation and encourage people's independence within the community.’

The report stated ‘extra, unplanned calls were made throughout the pandemic to check people's welfare and detect any signs of social isolation. Where indicators of isolation or low emotional state were detected, the service took prompt action such as increasing the frequency or length of calls, asking the person what they would like to do differently whilst confined to their home, suggesting new activities and hobbies and keeping relatives informed.’

The report also praised Right at Home’s management and their support towards staff.

One staff member said: "From the day my training started I really felt so comfortable. I felt the team was so approachable…I knew that if I had any questions, doubts or queries I could go straight to them. The office team were friendly and not like any other employer I've had before; they really cared about you."

Scott MacRae, owner of Right at Home (Henley, Maidenhead & Windsor) said: “I am really proud of the work our team delivers every single day. This inspection puts us in the top three per cent of domiciliary care providers in the country.

“It has been especially important and challenging over the past two years throughout the Covid pandemic.

“I am also delighted that the Rt Hon Theresa May has visited our office to celebrate with us on our achievement. We also discussed how well we look after our employees and how we need more great CareGivers to join the team to deliver outstanding care.”
