Our experienced team provides sessions covering topics such as moving and handling, dementia care, and continence. These tailored sessions allow our trainers to address your specific needs. You have the flexibility to choose one session or all three, ensuring you gain the maximum benefit from our team's knowledge and support.
MOVING & HANDLING (1 hour) This personalised training focuses on specific mobility needs, ensuring safe and correct use of equipment to assist with movement, lifting, and handling. It covers:
- Transfers from bed to chair - Turning over and sitting up in bed - Showering - Using the toilet - Assisted walking - Getting in and out of a vehicle - Using the stairs - Safe use of mobility equipment
DEMENTIA KNOWLEDGE (2 HOURS) Personalised advice to address any issues and questions, sign posting to local events and services and improving the well being of the individual. • An introduction to some of the common types of Dementia and how they affect the brain • An insight into how the person with Dementia might be feeling • How to promote the interests and rights of people living with Dementia • Useful techniques to put into practice when supporting those living with Dementia, including giving simple choices, promoting independence, using reminiscence resources
DEMENTIA KNOWLEDGE (2 hours) This personalised session offers tailored guidance to address specific concerns, provides information on local events and services, and focuses on improving the well-being of the individual. It includes:
- An introduction to common types of dementia and their effects on the brain - Insights into the emotional experience of someone living with dementia - How to advocate for the rights and interests of people with dementia - Practical techniques for supporting individuals with dementia, including offering simple choices, encouraging independence, and using reminiscence tools
CONTINENCE (1 hour) This personalised session offers valuable insights into continence care, focusing on the correct use of equipment and promoting the individual’s physical and mental well-being. It includes:
- The importance of hydration - How urine infections can contribute to incontinence - Assessing home accessibility to the bathroom - Incontinence products for both day and night use - Information on obtaining NHS incontinence supplies
