Home care isn’t what you think. Kingsway Care's five-minute film #WhoMatters? turns the lens towards the people who rely on care, the families beside them, and the professionals who make it possible.

It’s a young student with disabilities finding confidence again.

An adult daughter caring for her mum, supported with two hours of respite.

A mature couple, able to stay together at home until the very end.

#WhoMatters? is the follow-up to Kingsway Care’s 2024 short film #WhoCares?, which focused on the role of professional caregivers. This new film deliberately shifts the lens to clients and families, showing home care from their perspective.

The stories reveal what great home care makes possible: stability where life once felt overwhelming, companionship where loneliness had crept in, and the freedom for families to spend time together without care tasks taking over.

Rather than focusing on needs, the film captures what people regain when the right home care support is in place. Kingsway Care hopes the film will encourage a broader conversation about what great home care looks like and why it matters for everyone.

The film closes with a reminder that care does not affect individuals in isolation. It touches those who receive support, those who give it, and the families whose lives are shaped by it.

Nearly one million home care visits happen every day in the UK. Every visit matters. Every person matters. Watch #WhoMatters?
