Ashridge Home Care celebrated at the 2026 Home Care Awards, being named winner for the End-of-Life Category. The event took place last Friday, recognising the country’s finest home care companies. Home care is growing fast in the UK and the Home Care Awards are the annual benchmark of excellence for UK companies and organisations delivering care across the country. Ashridge Home Care is a family-owned company based in Amersham, delivering outstanding home care to those living in Buckinghamshire and across the Home Counties. Ashridge was up against tough competition with larger national care organisations also taking part.
This year Ashridge is also celebrating its ten-year anniversary and the award is testament to the hard work by the whole team. Founded in 2016 by Trudi Scrivener, Ashridge Home Care has established a solid reputation in a tough marketplace where care is often under scrutiny. Ashridge is fully regulated and has earned an ‘Outstanding’ rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in the Caring category. Their professional care team offers both 24/7 live-in care and hourly visiting services tailored to the unique needs of clients, including older people and those living with conditions such as Parkinson’s or Dementia, and for rehabilitation care following a hospital stay.
"We are incredibly proud of this award. End of Life is a difficult subject avoided by many, but this is a topic which needs to be discussed to ensure everyone’s wishes are met." said Trudi Scrivener. “Choosing care can be a daunting experience for families. Our team is dedicated to guiding them through these challenges, ensuring that people can remain in the comfort of their own homes.”
Ashridge Home Care’s emphasis on providing dignified end-of-life care at home sets it apart as a pioneer in delivering what it calls “a good death” for clients in the familiarity and comfort of their own surroundings. In response to growing needs, the company appointed Chloe, their Care Manager, as an End-of-Life Champion. Her role has been pivotal in reshaping Ashridge’s approach to end-of-life care. Not only has Ashridge invested in Chloe undertaking the rigorous NHS End of Life Training (EoLC) an extreme core skills and training framework, but her knowledge is shared with carers who are directly involved with clients. One client testimony said: “J had a core team of tremendous carers, they really are the hardest working folk.” They go on to share: “The patience, kindness and competence they have shown J has been tremendous and we have been hugely thankful to them for that. Chloe's assistance at the end was amazing - she imparted such important information to us, without which we would have found things very much more difficult. Our special thanks to her for helping the extended family - everyone benefitted in their own way from her wise words.”
Chloe said: “This award means so much. As a team we try to go above and beyond ensure people stay at home with their loved ones until the end. We’ve helped so many people ensure these wishes are met and this award helps show the importance of our work.”
Ashridge was also recognised at the Home Care Awards ceremony for its comprehensive training programme. They were shortlisted in the training category recognising the emphasis the company puts on ensuring all its carers have career progression opportunities and are properly trained to support clients in the best possible way.
