Funding & Fees

Daily Charges per Person

Type of carePermanent
Hourly Visiting Care£38.48 - £39.90
Weekly Live-in Care£1,700 - £2,050

Our fees cover the cost of a fully managed service, the cost of the dedicated carer, the management of your care and a care manager who will make sure you are happy every step of the way.

For couples, a live-in carer is a fantastic option as we only make a small additional charge for the extra person needing care. If your relative lives alone, having a live-in carer is a viable option, as the costs compare favourably to that of a care home.

For some, all that’s needed is a friendly face and someone to come in to their home for a few hours to keep track of things, provide support with household tasks and appointments, manage medication and provide some company.

We know how important it is that your relative builds a strong bond with their carer, and we will provide a dedicated carer that they can get to know well.

It can be hard to make that first phone call to us, but there really is no obligation, and we are more than happy to talk through the different options with you so you can make an informed decision.

More fee information can be found on our website.

I have had a very positive experience with Ashridge on many levels in the care and support they are providing for my parents during my mum's illness. The initial meeting with a Care Manager was sensitively handled, with the Care Manager asking pertinent questions, listening well, and providing reassuring answers. Since my Mum has begun having a live-in carer, the Care Coordinator has been excellent in helping bed things in, checking in with the family, and coming in to the home to check on things. The live-in carer has been excellent - we have appreciated her good humour, her efforts to bond with my mum, and her advocacy for my mum to the district nurses. The various additional carers coming in for one-hour additional support slots have also been excellent, and have provided additional ideas and perspectives.

Ashridge Homecare were extremely reactive in stepping in after our approach to provide 24 hour-a-day support for my 91-year-old father following a fall, which required a month's stay in hospital. The service was very efficient in supplying a carer at very short notice and we were happy to extend our initial two weeks' care to a full month. Our carer took great pains to ensure that my father's medical needs were met to the full throughout this time. Initially, they enjoyed a positive relationship with a shared sense of humour and interests; however, this soured somewhat as my father's mood periodically dipped because of his medical condition. I felt his carer at this stage lost her own good humour and seemed to disengage to an extent with supporting family members and, to a degree, my father. For example, she spent a lot of time on her phone talking to her own family members or watching her TV choice on her own laptop - once while on line food shopping order was left on the doorstep.

Lyn was the live-in carer for my father during the last weeks of his life. She is incredibly kind and treated Dad with patience and respect, allowing him to retain his dignity at all times. She also cooked meals for my stepmother, cleaned the house, did the washing and went shopping for them. My sister and I both work, and Lyn's presence in the house provided us with reassurance that Dad was being cared for at all times.

I cannot recommend Ashridge Homecare highly enough. We needed urgent live in care for my husband who was very ill with sepsis and ongoing mobility and continence issues. At the time he was receiving Hospital at Home NHS care and his personal care needs were very complex and challenging. Ashridge assessment of his needs was provided extremely quickly and a live in carer found immediately. We were able to meet the carer online beforehand.

Our live in carer has been a godsend. She quickly developed a great relationship with my husband and her whole approach was kind, empathetic and very professional. She was also very sensitive to needs of myself and our whole family. She made excellent suggestions for products and equipment to help his care and rehabilitation. Ashridge provided her with regular support and ongoing training and were able to provide a replacement when she had the occasional week off. This transfer of care was managed seamlessly due to overlap of hours for handover.

My relative needed full time care after illness.
We considered a carehome and also live in carer. Ashridge provided a good solution that enabled our relative to stay in his own home with familiar friends and neighbours around yet ensuring that daily care needs are met aswell as continuous company and communication with carer.

It was very quick to put in place and after less than 1 week Ashridge had found a suitable carer who moved in.

A recent stay in hospital for myself, and rehabilitation at home thereafter, required care for my mother whilst I was unavailable to look after her welfare.
The primary purpose was to ensure she was coping at home on her own, and was administered pre-prepared weekly medication as required.
The knowledge that my mother was being kindly, and efficiently, cared for was of great comfort to myself and my mother whilst I could not attend to all of her needs during this period.
I know that my mother greatly enjoyed the visits, and that her requirements were met well regarding the issues to which I entrusted your care.
Thank you to everyone who helped arrange and care for my mother, for which we are both extremely grateful.

With kindest regards and best wishes,

Paul

We had a full-time carer from Ashridge for a fortnight. This was to help me after I came home from hospital following a hip replacement operation. I am a carer for my husband so we needed someone to help him while I was away and then to help us both with meals, dressing, laundry and general household duties. The carer was incredibly supportive when I felt unwell the first weekend I was home and she was generally kind and caring. She also had a good sense of humour which always helps in difficult circumstances. We would not hesitate to use Ashridge again should the need ever arise.

When my mother-in-law became very unwell with cancer and needed homecare, we were so grateful for the incredible support provided by Ashridge. From the moment they stepped in, their care and compassion were exceptional.

The team treated her with the utmost dignity and respect, always ensuring she was comfortable and cared for as her illness progressed. Their gentle, professional approach brought real peace of mind to our whole family during an incredibly difficult time.

The carers were not only skilled but genuinely kind - they took the time to listen, to talk, and to treat her as a person, not just a patient. Thanks to their dedication, she was able to remain at home, surrounded by love, until she passed away peacefully.

We cannot thank Ashridge enough for the care, empathy, and professionalism they showed. They made an unbearable situation that bit easier to bear and gave my mother-in-law the dignity she deserved.

We contacted Ashridge in August 2024 to seek care for our godfather when our godmother (and carer to our godfather) required palliative care. From our first meeting, we felt that our loved ones would be in good hands and our confidence has been borne out by the excellent care provided by Ashridge staff. Every live-in carer has provided the utmost care and attention while treating our godfather with dignity and compassion throughout. After our godmother sadly passed away, our godfather has been able to stay in his own home, surrounded by fond memories and familiar people thanks to the expertise of his wonderful Ashridge carer. Communication with management and admin staff is also excellent and someone is always on hand to deal promptly with any queries. We wish everyone in my godfather's position was able to receive this level of care at the most vulnerable stage of their lives.

I contacted Ashridge initially on behalf of my friend's daughter to facilitate the transfer of my friend from hospital to home where she wanted to die.
Discharge from hospital was chaotic due to poor communication between hospital departments; it took 5 days from when the consultant said my friend could go home to die to physical discharge.
The Ashridge carer was excellent. I judge the Ashridge carer as a retired intensive care sister.
She was kind, caring, attentive and compassionate. She immediately fitted into the attending friends and family circle caring for my fiend. She was always doing things e.g. offering mouthcare, checking on pain etc. She was not intrusive.
It is with a heavy heart as a retired healthcare professional to say her care skills both interpersonal and clinical were superior to those exhibited by many of the registered and unregistered hospital staff and the registered staff in the community.

If I ever needed anyone to look after me, I would request this carer.

My experience with Ashridge Homecare was excellent. My anticipated needs following leg surgery were well assessed. The two carers were punctual, cheerful and kind. They provided help with personal care, washing, dressing and haircare and compression stockings. They also carried out household duties such as bedmaking, changing sheets, laundry care and tidying the kitchen. They accompanied me on walks to encourage increased mobility.
They were always very friendly and sociable and always brightened up our day.

Should we need this type of assistance in the future we would contact Ashridge Homecare.

I contacted Ashridge initially to discuss visiting home care for my mother but the situation changed before we had even had our initial appointment and I asked them to arrange live-in care at very short notice. Rather unbelievably within 36 hours a live-in carer had arrived! The carer provided has been a god send, he is an excellent fit for my mother and has worked wonders to improve her health. More than that, he has become a valued companion and I am delighted by how he has fitted into our family. Throughout the whole process the office staff have been extremely easy to deal with, communication has been great, nothing is too much trouble and things are sorted out with the minimum of fuss. I have been very impressed with Ashridge so far.

We first contacted Ashridge for assistance with Personal Care for my mother in May 2024 and then had live-in care from the following month for a year.
All of the carers were kind and competent. Ashridge helped us settle into a rotation mostly of 2 preferred live-in carers. They enabled my mother to remain at home, enjoying her garden, attending Church and Lunch Club and receiving many visits from family and friends until the end of April 2025.
The carers liaised with great patience (and persistence where necessary) with me, the GP, district nurse, and dentist to provide my mother with the best possible care tailored to her preferences.

I highly recommend Ashridge Home Care.

My father was a client of Ashridge for two years. During that time the level of care provided by Ashridge varied, from two visits per week, to two or three visits per day, and also included a short period of live-in respite care after a stay in hospital. With the help of the Ashridge carers, my father was able to live independently for as long as possible.
The carers were excellent, treating my father with utmost dignity and respect at all times, and he came to trust and rely on them. It was a huge comfort to know that he had such lovely people looking out for him.
The office staff were also very kind, caring and understanding, dealing with the fluctuating needs quickly and efficiently, even arranging live-in care at only a few days' notice over the Christmas period.

Everyone on the team seems to have endless patience and compassion, and Ashridge's help, support and compassion have been invaluable.

My mother was recently taken ill and rushed into hospital. The visiting carer provided by Ashridge Home Care was absolutely wonderful. Recognising the gravity of the situation, she alerted the family, contacted the doctor and stayed on till one of us could get there. As a result of my mother's illness my parents needed additional care. The staff at Ashridge were very kind and understanding as they helped us consider the different options and we opted for live-in care, enabling my parents to stay together in their own home. This was quickly and efficiently put in place. The carers looking after my parents are kind, supportive and trustworthy. They have built up very good relationships with my parents who have become very fond of them. The standard of care is excellent. I would not hesitate to recommend Ashridge Home Care.

This was my husband's first experience of receiving care from anyone other than family. We were both anxious about a week of live-in respite care but we needn't have been.
Our experience with Ashridge Homecare has been excellent from the initial phone call. The assessment process was very compassionate and professional and a detailed and thorough care plan was written by the assessor. We were immediately put at ease.
The carer was professional and attentive to my husband's needs and gave an excellent standard of care. She also looked after our cat and the house was kept immaturely clean and tidy by her throughout the week.

I have no hesitation in recommending Ashridge Homecare and we have already booked another week of live-in care with them ourselves.
