Right at Home East Lancashire & Ribble Valley is proud to host its much-loved Golden Cinema as a regular monthly event, designed to bring people together and help reduce social isolation and loneliness within the local community.
Held across welcoming venues including Waddington Village Club and The Old Grammar School Community Centre in Whalley, Golden Cinema offers attendees the chance to enjoy a great film in a relaxed, friendly environment. Each month, the event attracts a mix of familiar faces and new visitors, all looking to connect, socialise, and share an enjoyable afternoon.
More than just a film screening, Golden Cinema provides a valuable opportunity for people—particularly older adults—to build friendships, engage with others, and feel part of their local community. The warm and inclusive atmosphere ensures everyone feels welcome, helping to make a meaningful difference to those who may otherwise experience loneliness.
A spokesperson for Right at Home East Lancashire & Ribble Valley said: "Golden Cinema is about so much more than watching a film. It’s about creating a space where people can come together, connect, and enjoy each other’s company. We’re always delighted to see the community come together month after month."
Right at Home remains committed to supporting the wellbeing of the community, not only through high-quality care services but also through initiatives that encourage connection and companionship.
