GoodOaks Homecare Epsom and Reigate has been rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following its first inspection, a rare achievement at this stage and one that highlights the impact of strong leadership and person-centred care in domiciliary services.
The service, based in Epsom, was rated Outstanding in both ‘Caring’ and ‘Well-led’, with inspectors highlighting an exceptional standard of personalised care and a values-led culture.
The CQC report found that people were “respected and valued as individuals” and fully involved in decisions about their care. Staff were recognised for building meaningful relationships and consistently delivering care that goes beyond expectations.
Feedback from people and families was overwhelmingly positive, with one person commenting, “If I didn’t have GoodOaks, I don’t know how I would have coped.”
Inspectors also praised the service’s leadership, describing a positive and inclusive culture where staff feel valued, supported and empowered. This was identified as a key factor in delivering consistently high-quality care.
Dhanuka Corea, Branch Director, said:
“We are incredibly proud of this achievement, particularly being recognised as Outstanding in both caring and well-led. For us, being caring means truly understanding each person and building genuine relationships, while being well-led is about creating a culture where our team feels supported to deliver the best possible care.”
The report also highlighted strong partnership working and a clear commitment to continuous improvement.
The rating comes at a time when the homecare sector continues to face workforce and funding challenges, reinforcing the importance of leadership, culture and quality in delivering sustainable, high-performing services.
