This reassessment has revealed many strengths in respect of the company’s people management practices. In particular these relate to how leaders seek to manage performance, help people to feel valued and appreciated for their contributions, and develop people’s capabilities in line with organisational ambitions. It is very evident that the work which leaders are doing in this respect is helping the homes to be viewed as an attractive and secure place to work by the local community, and therefore be seen as an employer of choice. This is clearly being achieved by helping to create brand advocates amongst resident’s family members, as well as employees, both past and current. The vast majority of people present as being very happy working in the homes and feel well-supported by leaders as well as by their colleagues, receiving regular supervision, encouragement, feedback, appreciation and on-going training and development.
