The Knowle and Dorridge Memory Café, coordinated by Unique Senior Care, has been recognised as Solihull’s Non-Profit Champion 2025 at the Solihull Awards, highlighting its contribution to community-based dementia support.

This award recognises local organisations that demonstrate meaningful impact through collaboration, long-term support, and positive outcomes for the people they serve. The Memory Café brings together families, volunteers, and local professionals to provide a consistent, welcoming space for people affected by dementia.

Since launching, the café has grown significantly, supporting over 50 regular attendees and working in partnership with organisations including Solihull Council, Admiral Nurses, Alzheimer’s Society, Age UK, and Carers Trust. It offers a combination of social connection, practical guidance, and access to support services in an informal and accessible setting.

The initiative has also helped connect families to further care and specialist services, often through early conversations and ongoing engagement within the group.

This recognition reflects the café’s role in supporting both individuals living with dementia and their families, while contributing to a wider network of community-based care across the local area.
