Innovative Business Contribution to the Community - Just Ask Care and Support

Recipient: Just Ask Care and Support

Date: Thursday 23 Oct 2014

In 2014, Just Ask won the award for 'Innovative Business Contribution to the Community' at the Craven Community Awards.

The Innovative Business Contribution to the Community Award recognises organisations that have developed a breakthrough product, service or project to address a community need. Innovation is defined as unleashing an opportunity that is more effective, equitable or sustainable than existing approaches.

Just Ask won this award because of their unique business concept that uses the profits made from full-fee paying service users to subsidise elderly people who require home help services, who without the subsidy could not afford the support they need.

This model is sustainable because of the large numbers of service users who use their domestic cleaning services and are attracted to us because a percentage of their fee is used towards the subsidy offered to qualifying service users.
