View Full Details of Extra Hands Home Care NorfolkAlthough the carers are generally excellent, the supporting organisation is not. Although a carer has always arrived, it is seldom the one notified in the weekly schedule. Timing is frequently changed without notice. It is now frequently too late to meet my needs. I have requested a time of 8.00 - 9.00 am but times are often nearer 10.00 am. An improvement would be welcome.
I am fortunate in having capable and cheerful carers, who take note of my needs and the way I like things done. I feel some of the management are not organised at all. Their timing for travel is erratic and carers often crisscross leading to longer journeys. Recently my morning call has got later and later so I have got my own breakfast. Also they swap carers and don't inform me.
Extra Hands are reckoned to be one of the better agencies in this area. I don't think they are quite as good as they used to be. The carers are nearly all very good indeed. (My husband has a stoma). However, the office - which has a nearly impossible job to do - lets the company down. I'm always having to phone them to find out who is coming and at what time when we get 'carer required' on the weekly rota we are sent. If the carers haven't been before I must be there to tell/show them what to do - irritating.
Extra Hands are very good people. When you speak to someone over the phone they are always very kind, cheerful and happy to help where they can. And the carers that come in to see me are also very kind, understanding, helpful where they can be. They are all very friendly too, and also very caring.
I was with another company before Extra Hands and they were terrible. All the ladies are very nice at Extra Hands, no complaints at all with the care that I received. Sometimes I don't receive my roster on time. Also not notified when carers are going to be late or if it's a different carer.
Very pleased with all the care and help given, it all helps my friend to stay in his own home, that's what he wants to do for as long as possible.
All carers have been very helpful at all times. Nothing is too much trouble, and I am pleased to see them every day. They help make my life better.
I have regular carers mostly. They are, and have been, caring and good company during some awkward times, e.g. COVID - when the only personal contacts!! I look on them as friends!
All carers are very good, can't fault but are let down from office staff as not always being informed of changes in carer or times and this can be an hour different!
All good, no grumbles at all.
Mum looks forward to her visits from Extra Hands. She has social visits three times a week and I visit once a week to do her shopping and any admin that needs attending to. When we go away on holiday for example I increase the time of the visits and the frequency and this is always accommodated. We speak on the phone every day and she always says she's had a good laugh with the carer and that they've put the world to rights.
I have had excellent service and have, if possible, had the same lovely help, who knows what I like and is the best. Thank you!
The freedom the carer has given me (I can now go out and leave my husband safe in his care) is wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble, and he is so cheerful and has bonded with my husband, who has advanced Alzheimer's, and resisted for ages the notion of having a carer. I have no worries leaving my husband while I go out and it makes such a difference to me.
We have been using Extra Hands (Heacham) for a month. The carers are very good. The services used are house cleaning, personal care and food preparation. Their CSR has been very patient with us, we changed the schedule a number of times before getting this correct for the client. Having the charges done in 15 minute intervals is useful and their app updates keep us informed on the care received.
Generally good service. Mum can be a bit difficult at times and was clearly not asking carers for help or telling them she didn't need it. So I have asked for them to be a little more directive with her. Overall the carers have been very good. Not always great times, very early or very late. Moreover they do explain generally.
Extra Hands are a hopeless care company as the office staff were awful and the carers were nice but many left. This is a useless company so go somewhere else, not this awful lot! Sometimes staff wouldn't even advise you someone else was coming. They are pathetic. As I say get another agency.
Service provided is first class. All staff helpful and friendly. Would recommend as a service provider.
