View Full Details of Crossroads (Sandwell)I had a positive experience wtih your services Crossroads community respite care sitting service. The services provided was good and the staff was caring friendly and supportive throughout. Their warm approach made my mum happy and she made a real difference and I appreciate the quality of care given.
The gentleman who came to sit with my husband was very respectful, kind and understanding, my husband can be difficult (!!) but the carer calmed him down and my husband was happy for me to leave (never happens!)
My father is the main carer of my housebound mother. As such , he is compelled to also stay in their house. "Crossroads" offered help by sending a carer to sit with my mother and keep her company whilst I took my father out on day trips. They were very thorough in setting up the sessions. The women they sent were punctual, polite and friendly. It was a very helpful service and we are all thankful for the help they gave us.
After a few years of caring for Mom by myself her condition deteriorated and I realized I needed help, this was hard decision to make for Mom and myself letting strangers into my home to care for moms personal needs, Mom can't do anything for herself so it's a hard job , dressing washing transferring from bed to chair, pad changing toileting meals etc ,,we took the plunge and contacted adult services that didn't go too well, but then I came across crossroads, from my first enquiry I was asked a lot of questions all about moms needs and the families , I immediately knew they were going to be thorough, they helped me arrange the equipment that was needed and we all sat down together to talk about care plans no details were left out no questions unanswered, once our care started i felt a massive amount of relief, the ladies came in and out doing the hardest of jobs with ease , chatty friendly and very reassuring, we feel very comfortable letting these ladies into our lives thank you
My wife has dementia and is now housebound (my choice to keep her at home). I need to get out, and I was told about Crossroads. Had them for 6 weeks twice a week, what a help. Then I needed an odd day urgent, and they helped; they are very helpful and caring. I will pass information on to anyone who needs help with care. Thank you all.
I am taking advantage of your 6 week respite arrangements. My wife has advanced Alzheimers and I am her carer. This is the first time we have been apart and I was nervous about the arrangement although I needed it. However having had the benefit of 3 visits from a particular carer so far I am very pleased with the outcome which has enabled me to have a break and also to do a few things requiring attention at home. My wife has been peaceful and relaxed under the carer's careful and warm company.
Cannot fault the carers that looked after dad caring, compassionate and helpful, even in very difficult circumstances as his condition deteriorated.
A really useful service to give carers regular respite.
We have utilised a number of organisations to provide care to my relative. Crossroads stands head and shoulders above the rest. The care staff almost always went above and beyond the basics. They were endlessly patient and gave freely to offer support. I always felt my relative was in good hands. The staff were well organised and managed, suggesting a high degree of structure and dedication behind the scenes. We were always confident that the appropriate level of support would turn up on time, equipped to carry out their role. None of this was straightforward in a time of staff shortages. It is to Crossroads' great credit that my relative's care was never compromised. The key quality, however, was the ability of the carers to deliver care effectively, efficiently and professionally. In short, they delivered a caring service in a way that showed they genuinely cared.
Care is great, person centred, consistent staff and always friendly. Have a good rapport with everyone in the family and nothing is too much. The office is always friendly and there is always someone that answers and happy to support where they can. They escalate any concerns accordingly and feel relief knowing she is cared for when we can't be there.
I have found the managerial staff friendly and approachable. They follow-up on any requests and queries. Whilst I have not met all of the individual carers, my friend (the client) speaks highly of them. They certainly all follow the care-plan and give a clear write-up of visits. These are, in most cases, available on the app immediately after, or soon after the visit. The carers allow my friend (the client) to be supported whilst still respecting her wish to remain as independent as possible. For example, they will always offer to prepare a meal for her. Sometimes she will accept this offer, but more usually, prefers to prepare one herself.
We're are both happy with the care provided. Staff are professional, caring and punctual. Dad always looks forward to their visits especially three members of staff in particular. He also enjoys attending the day centre.
Crossroads provided a professional caring service to my mother. My mother became very fond of the carers. Not only were the carers excellent, management were always very responsive and helpful. Crossroads enabled my mother to continue to live in her own home, which had been her strong wish.
Responded very quickly to an urgent need for care for my mom. They were all so lovely and friendly to speak to and they have given super help. They keep you fully up to date and informed. I cant really rate them highly enough. The only ever so slight downside is the need to download an app and go through quite a long process to get on the system so you can see any reports but even here they were super helpful - I must be getting old!
The carer was prompt and reliable. He tried to engage in conversation and probably had more response when I was not there. The carer gave me a brief resume of what the client had done whilst I was out and I think he felt surplus to requirements once I returned.
The service we received from start to finish was excellent. From the initial engagement, all staff have been extremely friendly and professional.
Very good. Always on time. My husband enjoyed all the work they did together. He found it very helpful.
Could not be more happy with the service provided by the carers, would highly recommend to anyone. I am very grateful for the support I have received. With the support me and my wife received, enabled me to see friends, complete gardening, shopping and have some much needed 'me time'.
I would like to say thank you to all the team at Crossroads. My mother has on set of dementia and although I had worked within in the care industry many years ago, I found it very hard to making right decisions for mom. I'm so grateful for the support mom and I received. Staff were kind, trustworthy, always on time and always tidied up before they left. I know mom really enjoyed their visit's, thank you so much.
My husband received 6 weeks of respite breaks. It was a relief that I could go out and do what I needed or wanted to do without having to worry about him falling and injuring himself while I was out. He has frontotemporal dementia. The sitter did some exercises and other activities with him and made lunch as explained to her by me beforehand. I really was and am appreciative of the scheme as a taster for longer term planning for the future.
