"My partner received home care services, and I wanted to share our experience. On the positive side, some of the carers were truly excellent. They demonstrated a thorough understanding of my partner's critical condition and were highly skilled in all aspects of personal care, including essential
catheter care. Their compassion and expertise made a real difference during their shifts. However, we encountered significant concerns with several other carers, which unfortunately impacted the overall quality of service. There was a noticeable lack of understanding regarding basic personal care and, specifically, proper catheter care. Issues included not ensuring the catheter was flowing correctly or connecting properly to the night bag, which is a fundamental requirement. It often felt as though these carers did not fully grasp the severity of my partner's critical illness.
