Delightful team providing intelligent, thoughtful and adaptable care for my Dad who is in his 90s. Home Instead North Oxfordshire have been helping my Dad for over two years - we have gradually increased the support as his needs have changed. Their now daily visits have enabled him to continue living in his own home. I would strongly recommend the whole team and the service they provide.
If I could rate HomeInstead North Oxfordshire 6 stars I would! The whole.team have been a phenomenal support to my Mum and my sister & I. They consistently went above and beyond in all.that they did for Mum and their care, compassion, communication and efficiency were second to none. What makes HomeInstead so unqiue and precious to clients isn't just the practical care they provide, it's the friendship they offer to them. My Mum's life had become so isolated, and they gave her kindness and friendship that meant the world to us all.
When I finally came to terms with having to find some extra support with Mum's care, I had no idea where to start in determining where to go to find the right fit, it's a very daunting process! Confronted with multiple options online, I decided to start with the reviews, Home Instead North Oxfordshire looked very good. With trepidation I rang the number and Graham answered, from that moment his calm reassuring guidance gave me the confidence to take the next step. Mum wasn't initially looking forward to having new people in the house and what that change meant, but when Supervisor Lauren visited, who was so lovely, Mum was put at ease. Everyone in the team has been fantastic, communication is excellent and I feel a massive amount of relief that those reviews brought me to Home Instead North Oxfordshire team.
Home Instead stepped in to support us when Mum needed short term care and support. Graham, Adina and the team were amazing, caring, respectful and considerate. We really appreciate the support you gave Mum at very little notice and all you did for her. I hope you continue to offer the short term care Mum received, as our community needs a service like this. Would highly recommend.
My Mum, formally diagnosed with mixed dementia in 2023, had been supported by her husband and my siblings until he died in January 2025 after a fall. We continued to provide live-in care but planned to engage a live-in carer for her as soon as possible. Home Instead were by far the most careful (and care-full, understanding) team in allowing us to interview prospective live-in carers with my Mum joining in at the end of each video call session. We ended up with an excellent carer who felt as though she was as close to being another sister in terms of her way of caring for our Mum. We felt very supported by the Home Instead team and they supported the carer very well, too, during the very stressful times when Mum's dementia meant that she was less amenable. Mum went into a specialist dementia nursing home in early October 2025 as her needs increased, but Home Instead gave her an extra few months living in her own home, for which we are very grateful.
I contacted Home Instead when we realised my mum could not live alone because of Alzheimer's . The team were extremely responsive to our idea of a shared package with us to care for mum in her own flat and worked extremely hard to come up with a bespoke solution. At all times we felt listened to, valued and there was a straight forward and honest appraisal of each stage of the journey. Eventually we settled on a full-time live-in carer who proved to be an extremely caring, dedicated and creative carepro. She and Mum had many lovely times together and her ability to work with both my sister and myself was remarkable. She became part of our family. I would have no hesitation in recommending Home Instead to other families who are supporting their relative at home; it's a first class service.
My Mum always looks forward to her visits and has got to know and trust the Carers, meaning she has become much more independent and has recovered well from a bad run of health. The support team are very friendly and quick to respond to any questions or issues. Mum has also received a couple of nice gifts, a tomato plant and a recipe book which was a really nice touch. Happy to recommend the team to anyone.
Graham and the team at Home Instead have been providing daily care for my Mum since 2021 up until she had to be recently admitted in a residential care home. Throughout the last few years the care that home Instead provided has been brilliant and really did allow Mum to remain as independent as possible. I came to rely on the care and support provided by Graham and team which in turn provided me with reassurance and comfort that Mums care needs were being fully met. In addition to the physical care provided, Graham was also able to provide me with guidance and support in relation to the current care system and the best way to navigate the difficult decisions required when the time came to relocate out of the family home and into residential care. I would 100% recommend Home Instead to provide quality care and wider support.
We're so impressed with the care Home Instead provides for my mother-in-law. Both the management and the carers are kind, patient, compassionate and genuinely interested in her wellbeing, which has made such a difference to her quality of life. Their support over the last 3+ years has given us, and continues to give, great peace of mind, knowing she's in safe and caring hands, particularly as we live over 500 miles away. Nothing is too much trouble for them, plus the management team are very proactive in providing feedback and recommendations. Highly recommended!
Home Instead have been great for my dad who at 91 needs some extra care. They don't just look after his wellbeing but also engage his brain with conversation and having a laugh. They are also very flexible and wherever possible will step in at short notice. Highly recommend
Home Instead have been helping my mother for 2 years and we have nothing but praise for the service and care they provide. Always reliable; always helpful and responsive to special requests; always attentive to Mum's changing needs. They offer friendship, practical support and kindness , both to Mum and to me as her principal carer. We would recommend our local Home Instead team (North Oxfordshire) without hesitation.
My Mum has been visited by the wonderful carers at Home Instead for 8 years now. It is impossible to praise them enough. Diagnosed with Alzheimer's and unable to drive, Mum has continued to lead a full and happy life thanks to them; they have taken her out for walks in the countryside, for trips to the shops and visits to local cafes and clubs. They transformed what could have been a very dark situation into one full of laughter. Their rapport with my mum was so special that, even when she moved into a care home, I asked that they continue to visit. This was an invaluable way of helping her transition across to her new surroundings. The empathy and attention to detail of the management staff at Home Instead have also been invaluable. They took the time to properly get to know Mum in the first instance and chose carers who would suit her personality. As my mother's disease has progressed, the whole team has proved vital in ensuring her changing needs are met. Thank you.
I contacted Home Instead after my mother had a hip replacement operation and found the return to independent living in her own home very challenging, both physically and mentally. It was such a relief to find a care provider who looks beyond each client's practical care needs to the person they are and the relationship they can build with them. Although Mum continues to face challenges, her carers offer her friendship, company and care in equal measure, which makes her life much richer and gives us peace of mind. Whenever we have raised questions or concerns, the Home Instead team has responded swiftly and offered good solutions. My sister and I are very grateful and would recommend Home Instead (North Oxfordshire) without reservation.
When my aunt moved into a new bungalow, her health deteriorated quite rapidly. She had been used to being a carer to others, and now she was the one who needed caring for. After a few difficult months, we discovered Home Instead - this turned her life around. The director, for whom my aunt had great respect, was easy to talk to, and always made time to listen. An appropriate team of carers was arranged, who gave my aunt a new lease of life, taking her to medical appointments, shopping, and social outings - also helping with little tasks around the house. Nothing seemed too much trouble. The carers were fantastic, understanding my aunt's fierce independent spirit, and enabling her to remain in her own home until 2 days before she died. I would wholeheartedly recommend Home Instead - and would especially like to thank my aunt's team of carers - they always treated her with respect and dignity, and gave her the most important thing - independence.
Home Instead looked after my mum from 2022 to 2024, with regular visits from several carers. She has vascular dementia, we increased the number of visits to ensure that she had regular social company and someone to reassure her when she had worries. They ensured Mum had her medication regularly, ate regular meals and washed, showered and dressed. They were all lovely, kind and helpful, and she became really quite close with some of them (she is now in a dementia care home and some have been to visit in their own time). I can't recommend Home Instead highly enough. By using Home Instead, we gave Mum an extra two years of independence in her own home before dementia made it too difficult.
Having been recommended to me by a long-time neighbour, Home Instead have given me care since January 2023. Having been an 'in-home' resident of a different firm of carers, I have come to realise how very much happier I am in my own home which has been made possible by the Home Instead team. I have come to understand during this year what an incredibly difficult task in home caring is and have come to realise how important it is to accept each other's strengths and weaknesses - none of us are perfect! Thank you, Home Instead, for an unexpected year of happiness and contentment.
Home Instead have been caring for our elderly mother for over 2 years. During this time the whole team have been outstanding, managing the many challenges that our mother’s changing needs have presented and supporting our mother through acute unexpected situations. The caregivers have been absolutely great, professional, kind, cheerful, empathetic and going out of their way to do everything possible to look after our mother and keep her cheerful. We can’t praise Home Instead highly enough.
Home Instead looked after my mother for most of 2023, with regular visits from several carers. She has dementia - early to mid-stage, and we slowly increased the number of visits to ensure that she had regular social company and someone to reassure her when she had worries. They were all lovely, kind and helpful, and she became really quite close with some of them (she is now in a home but asks after them often). I couldn't recommend Home Instead more highly.
After my mum died about 10 years ago my Ffther had to learn how to look after himself which he did so very well until about 2 years ago, my brother and myself came to the conclusion that Dad needed more help around the home and companionship in addition to the support we're already giving him. We decided to approach Home Instead to ask them what additional support they could provide. This was the best decision we could have made, it was very easy to discuss Dad's needs and arrange a suitable plan with the Home Instead office. This was just the start, we were very happy with the carers who visited Dad who not only gave him companionship but we're very happy to undertake cleaning, meal preparation and even helping Dad shower and taking him for walks around the village which he loved. There was always great communication from the carers who recorded not only what my Dad needed in terms of shopping but also how he was feeling. I would have no hesitation in recommending Home Instead.
