View Full Details of Home Instead (Camden)My 90 year old father suffers from vascular dementia. Home Instead Camden have been providing daily care for just over 3 months. I received an email one morning announcing that this would be the last day that the agency would provide care. The reason was because it was supposedly dangerous for carers to attend my father without a wheelchair. There had been 2 calls when this matter was discussed and I explained that the advice I had been given from both social services and his doctor was that use of a wheelchair at this stage could rapidly reduce his mobility. I was shocked at the callous way Home instead Camden felt they could abandon one of their clients causing him distress and his family extreme inconvenience. Thankfully we have now found alternative carers who seem able to make good progress with his mobility - without recourse to a wheelchair. I urge anyone contemplating dealing with Home instead Camden to ensure there are strict protocols about termination of care.
We are very happy with care provided by Home Instead - Camden. All of the carers have been very professional whilst being friendly and have made mum's house continue to feel like a home. Equally they make mum's immediate family feel at ease which in turn, ensures people are always popping in to see her. We also have noted the support staff at Home Instead, are friendly too and often put on social "get togethers" which mum thoroughly enjoys.
Home Instead has been providing care for my 93 year old mother for over four years now. The entire team of carers and support staff have been amazingly supportive and thoughtful and we could not fault our experience with them. My mother has had consistent care from one person for several years which has been wonderful and she and the carer have become firm friends. I know that I can pop into the office or call at any time to update or change arrangements and that they will always be flexible and responsive to our needs. If you need or are organising care for a loved one, I cannot recommend them highly enough.
My Aunt has been supported by the Home Instead team for approximately 3 years. Since the outset, her needs have changed and with it the care has changed. She currently has a carer 6 days a week for 3 hours each day. Her main goal is to remain as independent as possible and therefore likes to go out every day. Her care coordinator, has been wonderful at building trust and friendship with my aunt. He has been able to select carers with shared interests and who can offer her genuine companionship. We have regular communication and updates from her care coordinator, and we have built a very trusting and supportive relationship whereby any concerns are regularly communicated. I cannot recommend Home Instead (Camden) highly enough. The whole team have been highly professional and supportive of all my aunt's needs and most importantly, listens to any concerns. They are very much a team, and have a host of additional skills to offer such as nail and foot care and an incontinence service.
I am so grateful to have had the recommendation from friends to use Home Instead and have already told my friends about this excellent company. It is highly professional as ever and outstandingly caring. My mother, who is 99, is receiving wonderful care and support from a team which is very experienced, reliable and responsible.
Your team was amazing with my Uncle who had late-onset Alzheimers. You gently began to introduce him to the idea of accepting more help, at first just once or twice a week over a year or two. Then we transitioned to a daily basis to assist him with meals. You never pushed us to accept more care and your team were able to get the balance right between my anxiety concerning his safety and his wishes to remain independent. Finally after the further deterioration of his short term memory and a hospital admission he transitioned to live-in care in his final year at home. You carefully matched him with a carer whose companionship he enjoyed. Your team's support added greatly to his quality of life and I very much appreciated your professionalism, care and respect for his resolute independence.
Our widowed mother, 92, experienced a quick onset and deterioration of Alzheimer's over an eighteen month period. Home Instead provided flexible, personalised and expert support for her in her home until the end. They responded quickly and offered advice in a tactful and timely manner. The small management team knew their clients and staff well, so consistently provided a careful match with our mother. For example, selecting Polish speakers at key moments and finding the right person once 24 hour care was needed. Huge thanks to the management team and carers in enabling our mother to feel safe and cared for.
Quite happy to the taken to the church by my carer.
We have been very impressed with the care that Home Instead has provided us with. Everyone has been kind and caring, organised, efficient and responsive to our needs.
I have been very happy with the care and support for my husband, accompanying him to medical appointments, taking him out on walks, and museum visits. Much kindness was shown. Cooking wonderful meals when time allows. I look forward to the days when the carer is here. It gives me a much-needed break. It's nice to be able to share any concerns I might have. With his dementia, his situation is deteriorating and I find it far too much for me to manage. There are many care agencies, how can one choose. I can only say I have been so pleased to be with Home Instead since 2020. Very good team.
Very good service. Courteous and friendly.
My carer showed great understanding of my condition and was very sensitive to my needs and very caring and helpful.
My mum has been visited by one of the carers for several years now and is very happy with the care she receives. Highly recommend this carer as a reliable, trustworthy and cheerful carer. Good communication from the company in general.
I feel I get very good support from my carers which supports me in living at my home independently which I want to continue to do. I like the help I get while doing my shopping. I feel relaxed and secure with my carers around. While we are out and about, I enjoy my daily exercise. Humour is very important to me.
Carer is extremely polite and always willing and patient to help in whatever is asked of him and also help us on his own. And my husband also is getting to know him which is what he needs and helps my husband with exercise which is needed.
My wife's medical situation is extremly complex. The 24/7 care provided by Home Instead is of a very professional nature and meets all of these needs successfully on both physical and mental levels and provides great comfort to her. The administration of the service is excellently coordinated to achieve a very smooth transition from one professional carer to the next, like clockwork. The overall quality of the care received is of the highest standard literally from carer to carer through the day and night. I would highly recommend Home Instead to anyone requiring professional care at home without any reservations.
The carer for my mother was excellently matched to her and they formed a very warm friendship. She was knowledgeable about ailments found in old age and helpful on this front. She definitely enhanced my mother's life in the last 2 years. And not only did she support my mother, she was a toner of strength for the family, giving us a much-needed breathing space.
Excellent, helpful, friendly staff taking care of my bed-bound husband and keeping his spirits up.
We have had carers for over 2 years for my 93-year-old cousin. He was living alone, quite lonely and isolated, not really looking after himself very well. His dementia began around 4 years ago and has been steadily getting worse. The care he received was fantastic. He loved all his carers especially one in particular who became his main carer in the last year. They cooked him hearty healthy meals and kept the flat clean and tidy. Most of all he has enjoyed the company. Without a doubt, this has had a positive effect on him. He used to be a bit low and depressed. But in the last year he has felt so cared for and so engaged with the carers, he has felt much much better. Any issue or problem, I would contact a particular staff member and it would be dealt with quickly and efficiently. I knew I could rely on them all. As I live a fair distance away and he is in another location, it was sometimes quite a strain on me. But once 'Home Instead' was involved, it took a huge weight off my shoulders. I can not thank them enough.
Happy with everyone from Home Instead. Friendly staff, caring and very professional.
