View Full Details of Home Instead (Shoreham, Petts Wood & Longfield)My experience of HomeInstead care has been very good . My mother has been a client for the last 2 years initially receiving companionship visits . These visits enabled me as her daughter and carer to have a break . Mum looked forward to these visits and enjoyed being able to play a game of chess, dominos and cards as well as taking a part in cake making sessions. More recently following a major stroke we arranged a live in carer for my mother through Home Instead . This has enabled my mum to remain in her beloved home and receive full time care . I would recommend Home Instead to any one looking for extra support for their elderly family member to remain at home ..
The Home Instead carers provide a befriending service to my elderly mother but quite frequently go above and beyond. Because of her early stage dementia, my mother isn't always the easiest person to get on with but I'm kept up to date with any developments or concerns raised by the carers which I can then follow up. It's a comfort to know I can call the office for advice or to keep them in the loop.
We are very happy with the caring service provided for my wife who has Alzheimer's. The two carers who come in the mornings to help wash and dress my wife are very friendly, happy and attentive to her complex needs. All in all a great service.
We have nothing but high praise for all the staff at Home instead. We were recommended by a person who works in the care profession. The management team are so very helpful nothing is too much trouble. The staff outstanding and look after my wife very well.
I find the office great to deal with and the carers of excellent quality. They're kind, competent and reliable. Such a relief to have them helping to care for Mum and Dad. I would recommend them unreservedly.
I needed help for my husband when I had to have a knee of replacement. I came across Home Instead and found they were professional , caring , understanding and knew exactly what I needed for my husband. I didn't have to explain too much they came round saw all the equipment that we have understood my needs for my husband, ask me when I needed it they were here on the dot of the day I needed help when I came out of hospital and they have been here for the past two months if every day on time, ready for work, talking to my husband, they are kind, friendly and happy people. It was a pleasure to find somebody who understood what I needed and wasn't rough with my husband and didn't take advantage of his generosity they respected our property all the time and left it the way they found it. This company is a fantastic asset, I have to have another knee done and I will be coming back to Home Instead.
As a family, we couldn't be happier with our mum's carers: Home Instead. All of the staff are really lovely people and approach each visit with enthusiasm and creativity in the care they give. Mum lives with dementia and is nearly 90. She isn't always easy but the carers are all very sensitive to her changeable moods and approach her accordingly. They always manage to leave her in a better mood than they found her in. They are all experts in getting her to do things she should do but is putting off, such as showering, wearing clean clothes and eating nutritious food. All of this is achieved by patient persuasion and comes out of experience with mum over the last year. In many ways they are much better at it than we are. They are presently trying to get her out more and carers are actively exploring ways to get her interested in the outside world again. Mum is vulnerable but we have no qualms in entrusting her care to Home Instead. They definitely enhance her life.
It's never easy to entrust someone else with your parent's care, especially when dementia is involved. But the support we've received has been such a comfort to our whole family. The caregivers provide a simple but truly meaningful service - a hot meal at lunchtime, washing up, a bit of ironing and laundry, emptying the bin - and, most importantly, gentle companionship. These small daily tasks make a big difference for my parent, who is living with mixed dementia. The familiarity and routine help bring calm to the day, and the carers are always respectful, patient, and kind. They treat my parent like a person, not a task, and that means the world to us. We're so pleased with this dependable support for our father.
Excellent service. Coudn't be happier. I love my care professionals, and they are single-handedly keeping me out of a care home. I have 5 special carers in particular. I love all of Home Instead; they are always there to help and care.
Carers are always punctual, respectful and allow my mum to maintain as much independence as possible. The carers are all familiar to her. We know exactly who is visiting in advance ,which allows me to write their name on my Mums whiteboard even though its the same, regular carers.
Excellent service over a 2 year period. Always on time or close to this. Friendly staff who went out of their way to help. Very kind to my wife and helped in ways which were possibly above and beyond our expectations.
All the team that have been involved in my mum’s care, from administration to personal care have been outstanding. Everyone has been so professional and genuine with their care. I witnessed an immediate improvement in my mum's health when care commenced. The carers were soon able to have an understanding of Mum's character and adapted their delivery of care appropriately, making Mum feel loved and valued. I always felt involved with the team and kept fully updated with every situation, both personally and via the impressive care planning app. I will be forever grateful and will continue to recommend Home Instead as a care agency that is second to none. Thank you!
Home Instead has provided an excellent, 100% reliable service to my mum for the past year. The carers are very good, but also the office staff who are always available, answer queries promptly and also highlight and follow up any issues (medical or otherwise) to family so that we are all always fully in the loop regarding care.
We have been using Home Instead now for some eighteen months twice a week for six hours. My wife has serious mental health issues and Home Instead have help transform our lives by giving being supportive in the home and helping my wife with her health issues. We are in our late 60s. As a carer, they give me important respite so I can go to the gym or do my own things for a few hours a week. I know my wife is very safe in their very capable hands. It is this dual care aspect of being able to do the practical things in life such as cleaning our bungalow but being able to drop this role and fall back to a caring role as required most useful. Our two Caregivers are more like friends who we have got to know well which has been tremendously important. They will take my wife out for a walk or shopping and do almost anything within reason we ask of them. I cannot see I time when they will not be part of our lives going forward and I will probably need them.
Friendly and caring but professional service - always ready to discuss needs or issues and make practical and pragmatic suggestions. Although our need was only for a few months, I would heartily recommend them to anyone.
Such a fantastic service offered to my mum. She refused help elsewhere and home instead we're so flexible and understanding she took to them right away. They let mum keep her independence which is very important to her. They have taken the worry away from my sister and I when we are on holiday, knowing that there is always someone there to look after mum. Mum's care giver is kind, patient, understanding and flexible. We are very very happy with the service we receive.
I look forward to seeing your representatives as they are all very pleasant to talk to and have a good sense of humour, much needed these days. If I need some practical help, they are all here to help sort it out. No complaints at all.
All staff (both carers and office) have been friendly and understanding when dealing with day to day appointments and with problems regarding caring as they have occurred.
Very friendly and efficient staff and service. Carers are willing to please and bend over backwards to supply meals, companionship, personal care if needed and help with day to day tasks. They are always there to listen and cheer me up on my down days.
We engaged Home Instead in mid-November to provide a mix of rehabilitation and ongoing care for Mum after hospital discharge. Experiences with other caregivers have been very unsatisfactory and so we were nervous of any claim made during our initial enquiries. However, over the four weeks of care (and counting), I can honestly say that this provider has exceeded our best expectations and lived up to everything they have promised. Continuity of care is a genuine priority and each carer (Mum has three) has been personally introduced to Mum, with a lot of care taken over understanding the way Mum likes things. The notes written by carers after each visit are invaluable for keeping me informed and assured that Mum is well cared for. My only regret is that this wasn’t the first agency I found when looking for care. If you are reading this, I encourage you to make contact with Home Instead without delay and see for yourself what an excellent service they offer.
