View Full Details of City On A Hill CareFor the last few weeks of my mothers life she required home care twice a day. Can not fault the service. Cares were kind and understanding to my mothers needs and treated hrr with respect. Thank you for all your help.
On recieving the horrific news that my 91 year old mother only had 3 months left to live, I and all of my family were soooo apprehensive on what care she was going to get from not only her live in carer she was allocated but from the carers also popping in 3 or 4 times a day. We've all seen over the years the much publicised bad carers and some awful things they had done, but our fears soon disappeared on meeting all of my mums carers. I can honestly say I couldn't of wished for more polite, hard working caring people, we loved every single one of them who came to help my mother. All of the carers brought great comfort to my mother in her last 3 months, singing and dancing at times with her to Christian music and praying with her, especially as she was such a strong Christian herself. All I can say is Thank God my mother was sent her Angels to help her pass peacefully and as comfortably as possible, and not fearing passing away. Thank you ALL, I will always count you as my FRIENDS !!!
This care team took over 24 hour care from another care team as our Mums care needs changed drastically. They were kind, caring and trustworthy. They helped with personal care, medication also hospice doctor consultations in home. They communicated excellently about needing more meds more meals etc. They supported our mum whilst we weren't there but also supported us. They are completely professional but on a level that you feel supported with a friendly feeling. They cleaned our mums house before she had to go into a care home. We will be forever grateful for all they have done for our family. The managers were kind and friendly with access to the carers notes and support towards our family
When my uncle was discharged from hospital, he was keen that he should go back to his home and stay there. This was achieved until he died about a month later. NHS Continuing Healthcare contracted City on a Hill Care to provide a live-in carer with supplementary daytime care: the highest level of care they could provide at home. For most of this time, one individual was there for him for at least 22 hours a day. Although I was not local, we kept in regular contact. It was clear that she and my uncle bonded very quickly, and she was very caring and attentive to his needs, to the extent that I was worried about whether she would be able to maintain the pace. With the resources we had available, we managed to navigate the challenges that came up, and I believe we couldn't have done it without her. My uncle got his wish, and managed to stay at home until the end, and for that I am forever grateful.
We would like to thank you all for the care and compassion you showed our mum while she was having palliative care. Everyone was friendly and polite and couldn't do enough for us, our only criticism which is very minor is that not everyone wore the uniform or company fleece so if it was somebody you hadn't met before it was hard to tell if they were a genuine member of staff. Apart from this we can't fault the care you gave our mum under difficult circumstances
The ladies that care for my dad, treat him as if he was their own father. They have great respect and are kind to him beyond words. They go above and beyond what we would expect, giving full care with dignity and quietness. They have lifted so much stress off my shoulders, as they just deal with everything related to dad's care, including ringing the doctors, social care, pharmacy etc. They prepare home cooked food, do his washing and drying and are very trustworthy. I wouldn't want any better care for my dad.
The care provided to my father by his regular carer was nothing short of fantastic. Her attention to his needs and medication requirements was excellent, we could not have asked for any more vigilance by a carer. My father very much appreciated all the care he was given and the wider family included her as one of the family. The substitute carers were all brilliant too and always appeared happy in their work.
All the staff were caring, professional, and a joy to have in our home, my husband really trusted them. Everyone was punctual , smart and clear in their roles, my husband was so clean and smart after their visits.
Outstanding service. My dear dad was on palliative care end of life, and over the 14 weeks that we had the carers they were all outstanding, showing empathy, compassion, care. And as a family it was a great comfort knowing dad would be able to live out his last days, with round the clock care. All the carers where so nice to us all, very friendly easy to get along with, personally thanks go to 3 staff members in particular. Sadly dad passed away on the 6th December, but knowing that we could all be there with him and if we needed a break, the carer was there too, it was great comfort. Would highly recommend.
Our Dad was having end-of-life care by three members of staff. My Dad felt safe and looked after. The team made a very upsetting time very special. Dad was so well looked after, the team is amazing, caring, and very special. We feel very privileged that they were able to look after our wonderful Dad in his last days. Thank you.
We have had a lovely lady in particular sent to us to take care of my father who was terminally ill with cancer. She did an excellent job looking after him and being there when we needed her. She was friendly and professional and knew who to call and where to ask for help. It made our life in these hard times so much easier. We had another lady too with is giving a helping hand to his main carer, and again just compliments to both of them. I would recommend her to anybody who is in the same situation as we have been. Thank you so much for the care company who has such good employees and who helped us.
My mother had a live-in carer for six months and I was impressed with the care she received. She was treated with dignity and respect and was assisted to be as independent as possible. The carers who came over that six-month period were friendly, diligent and kind and enabled my mother to remain in her own home as she always wished. They were interested in her life, encouraged her to continue playing the piano and listen to classical music on the radio, helped her do baking and looked at old photos of her younger years with her. It was reassuring to me and my family that she was in good hands.
We have had the care for my mother-in-law in place for 10 days. In those 10 days the care was outstanding in every way. From mouth care to foot care and everything else in between. She was treated with the highest respect, privacy and dignity. The care was tender, not rushed, every need was met 100% of the time. The live-in carers were so respectful of the home, they made it feel lived again, kept it clean and fresh. In 42 years as a registered nurse, I've never known such exceptional care to be given and attention paid to detail. These 2 members of the City on the Hill care showed they chose the role of caring as a vocation not a job and this shone through in everything they did, from talking to and caring for their client, but also how they treated us as relatives. Words can't express how much it meant to us to have such caring, compassionate supportive people caring for my husband's mum. Thank you.
We have been hugely impressed by the care provided by City On A Hill. Engaged at short notice to provide palliative care for my mother in what turned out to be her final two weeks, the quality of service was simply outstanding. Our live-in carer was both professional and kind and went above and beyond, especially in her support at the hour of greatest need. The same is true of the drop-in carer and those who substituted when needed. More than this, we were guided through a difficult process by the highly caring management of the agency and, having been sceptical of the very idea of having a live-in carer, have found ourselves now sad to say goodbye to them. Thank you to City On A Hill for your humanity and dedication in my mum’s final days. We will not forget how you eased her suffering - and also supported us.
All staff were very caring and understanding, as well as being supportive to both Mum and us as a family. This included all carers and management staff. Everything was dealt with in a caring and professional manner.
City On A Hill Care were the carers provided through our local NHS. They were to provide care to our mum after she was discharged from hospital with the news that she only had months to live. The care was outstanding. Mum wasn’t someone who normally liked her space to be invaded. She was very independently minded. But the carers were brilliant. They knew when to give her her space and when to be company. We found all the carers to be very courteous and tidy around Mum's home, to be very understanding of her needs and to very helpful at all times. They were lovely people and we really appreciate the level of care that they gave Mum in her last months.
Our mother required a 24-hour live-in palliative care with additional support 3 x a day. The level of genuine care and support by the care staff was second to none. They were parachuted into an extremely challenging set of circumstances that were constantly evolving. Yet they remained caring, professional, and calm when friends and family were struggling to process what was going on. In the 6 weeks they looked after our mother they did a marvellous job and genuinely improved the quality of Mum's life in her final weeks. Angels without wings.
In the beginning, I was slightly dubious about having a carer living in the house. How wrong I was! Although she had trouble joining us due to transport strikes, her manager was in touch to ease the situation. My husband's carer was all one could hope for. She was excellent, with good ideas for his care, professional, friendly, calm and kind. She was concerned to help us cope with my husband's terminal condition and she succeeded so that we were able to keep him at home. She also taught us how to do more to keep my husband comfy when she was off-duty. She also worked well with other professionals - the community nurses and GPs. Her colleague who joined her 3 times a day, was also a lovely helpful lady. Both are excellent at their jobs and easy to have in our family.
My husband has received excellent care from each carer sent and has been treated with kindness and compassion. They have become members of our family each time. We have had carers now for over six weeks and have experienced no problems with each change over every two weeks.
We have carers 3 nights a week and this has given us rest and confidence in our nan being safe during the night. The carers are friendly, helpful and professional, with there being 2/3 regular ladies that know the family and our nan well and keep consistency. Communication has always been good. Very happy with City On A Hill Care.
