View Full Details of Home Instead (Lewisham & Southwark)I am really well taken care of by Abiola she really deserves an award, the way she relates with me and my family felt so good that we all see her as part of us. I'm so glad our paths crossed through home instead. I really love her she prioritises my wellbeing and every one in my family feels her impact. Abiola deserves an award for how she made my nervousness and phobia for the community and people go away. Also Fiona the first time we met she makes herself at home with me improving my positivity. Thank you
My mother has Dementia and I wanted some support with both personal care and making sure she was eating and also some social and physical stimulation. Home Instead have been very helpful and supportive. Advising me on how to start the process. They have taken the time to build a relationship as initially my mum was resistant but she is now accepting help to shower and also walk around the garden. It is also good to know she is getting the social interaction she needs. Home Instead has given me peace of mind.
I have found agency to be very caring from supervisor to carer. If any problems arise I am consulted and they are sorted out caringly. Very happy with service provided and would recommend agency to others.
As a family we were apprehensive of allowing people living with our mother. But after our consultation and the swiftness of the firm to find a suitable candidate for us, we have been very grateful for the relationship we have with Home Instead and there regularly checking on how the carers and us getting along. They are now our family. Ms Sharyl our main carer. Mrs Abantika a younger energy are a God send. We are more relaxed in mind and body regarding our Mother being cared for at home.
Best service ever ,we have looked a few care providers and we say these are the best. The carer was tailored to my Mother and they matched perfectly. The carer in Question (Mary) always went the extra mile when doing a chore.
I had my first visit from my new lady from Home Instead on Monday the 11th of August. We got on like a house on fire. I thought it a good idea to declutter cupboards and drawers that haven't been decluttered for years with her during the 2 weeks whilst my son and his family are out of the UK. We got 1 cupboard done between us in 10 minutes. Then she did some washing up just because it was there - I didn't ask her to. Finally, she hoovered my whole flat when I only asked her to do the front room. And then we just sat and chatted about our dreadful experiences in our respective workplaces, mine 25 years ago, and hers just 2 years ago. It was much more like working with a mate to get things done than just an ordinary domestic. A particular member of staff could not have found me a better match, and it is a testament to Home Instead's recruitment process that my new lady and her fellow workers were recruited.
Home Instead supported my brother's care for some months during 2024 and at the start of 2025. They offer a very dedicated and professional service. The managers are extremely knowledgeable about different presentations of illness and conditions. Every service and interaction was carried out with sensitivity and thoughtfulness. Home Instead helped with the cleaning and accompanied my brother to hospital appointments. Nothing was too much trouble. The standard of the cleaning was very high and the staff formed a sincere and encouraging rapport with my brother, which he appreciated and we do too. The beauty of Home Instead is the depth of knowledge and the flexibility. They can start off with cleaning and progress to offering a care service also. They are able to tailor their package to the precise needs of the service user. One incident which sticks in my mind is that when my brother went to hospital, accompanied by a Home Instead carer, she stayed until he was admitted.
We have been using Home Instead for 8 months. Mum's carepro has been fantastic from day 1. She provides Mum with companionship and reassurance above all and also restored Mum's confidence in going for short walks and outings. Our carepro has been totally reliable and professional at all times. Together with her line manager, our carepro has been able to adapt to Mum's changing needs.
