View Full Details of Home Instead (Oldham & Saddleworth)My friend sadly died in August 2025 but had been cared for by the Home Instead Team since April 2024 She lived alone following the sad loss of her husband and was confined to her bed for the majority of that time. The carers who visited this lady were lovely with her and a couple of the carers managed to "win her over"even though my friend hated being dependent on anyone. They got to know her very well and tried their best to encourage her to eat when her appetite declined. They would bring her treats and did their best to get to know her. They were also alert to any concerns and would relate them to the care managers, who would also notify me. The care managers were incredibly supportive of me, liaise with partner agencies and absorbed a lot of stress away from the daily management of my friend's care. They were always open to any concerns I raised and did there best to ensure that my friend had her wishes fulfilled: which was to remain in her own home. Many Thanks
The care and love that my late mother received was wonderful despite how short she often was with the lovely people from Home Instead. We are extremely grateful for their help and concern towards my Mum even visiting her when she was confined to hospital. Knowing they had visited was a great relief when you live 200 miles away.
Home Instead Saddleworth have cared for my aunty in her own home for over 10 years. The care for Aunty J has adapted as her needs have changed. They have been an amazing team offering not only practical help and support to allow my aunty to remain in her own home, but they also give that personal touch. They get to know the people who they care for. This has given us as a family confidence to know that Aunty J is fully supported.
Home Instead cared for my mother for just over two years. I cannot recommend them highly enough. They were excellent in caring terms, lovely individual carers, and in administrative terms, extremely well organised and nothing was too much trouble.
My wife suffered from a rare neurological condition. The brilliant carers from Home Instead, Saddleworth came three times a day to tend to her needs during the last 12 months of her life. They showed great compassion and were highly professional. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They also gave me tremendous support through a very difficult time. I cannot praise them highly enough.
I would like to say that all the staff at Home Instead at Oldham and Saddleworth carried out their duties with utmost care, not only with meals but, with day-to-day chats about life in general, so was a lifeline to greet them every day.
After coming out of the hospital having had a knee replacement, Home Instead ladies came to help me and my husband who was recovering from broken ribs after a fall. The care team were brilliant and so helpful doing the jobs that me and my husband normally did as we were both active before, in spite of our ages. We had them for four weeks and oh how I miss them now. It was a real treat for us for them to do jobs such as bits of shopping, hoovering, washing up etc. I will certainly recommend them 100% to any of my friends who may need help. A million thanks to Home Instead.
Home Instead have been providing support to my mum for almost two years. From the start, they were personable, caring and professional and this has continued during the two years as mum's needs have changed and increased. The nominated care professionals gave great support, advice and companionship as well as providing practical help such as medication administration and meal preparation. It has been a great way of enabling mum to be at home. I would also commend the scheduling team and management team who are efficient and knowledgeable. Recently, mum went to hospital for an unplanned stay and the support given during that time was flexible and invaluable. I can't recommend the team highly enough they have been fantastic with mum and a huge support to me too.
I cannot recommend this company enough. They go above and beyond to provide care. All the carers are empathetic, caring and professional. As an ex-nurse good care is hard to find in this current climate, but the manager and his team have been fantastic. My daughter-in-law's mother needed end-of-life care and this was exceptional from start until she was admitted into a hospice. In the last few days, one staff member in particular has not only cared for her but all the family as well. This made it so much easier for all. A great big thank you to you all from all the family.
The care we received from the team has been absolutely amazing. I honestly cannot thank you and the team enough. The carers were just outstanding and went above and beyond for Mum and Dad. If Mum and Dad returned to me then I wouldn't hesitate to ask for Home Instead again. Everyone involved has been so wonderful and I cannot express how much they have supported me.
Your service supplied just what I was in need of post my knee operation. Hope to call in you again when and if I have the other knee done. My only criticism I have is poor communication for a while about my key box location which involved my neighbour having to give access through her intercom.
Home Instead cared for my mum from January 2019 until she sadly passed away in December 2023. I always found them approachable and any difficulties encountered were quickly resolved. The standard of care from the caregivers was high. Mum was always treated with respect and dignity (she would have told us if she wasn't happy ) and she looked forward to their visits. For mum it really was Home Instead and ultimately that was what mattered to her and to us. Thanks again for your support Home Instead we as a family couldn't have done it without you.
Home Instead arranged homecare for my mum who has Alzheimer’s. I can’t recommend them highly enough. They listened patiently and developed a care plan to suit my mum perfectly and were so professional and helpful. We met three lovely carers during the short time we had with Home Instead, they genuinely really really care! So empathetic - to me as well as my mum as I needed a hug from time to time. Don’t hesitate - Home Instead are amazing.
Care is needed at short notice because of a fractured leg. Home instead could not have been more helpful. A quick home visit from the care manager who has been professional and put us at ease. We were extremely confident. All helpers were introduced by the manager and care started within days. The staff were delightful, looked for ways to help us, always willing and professional. We looked forward to their visits. There has been much laughter. Would definitely use it again and recommend it to others.
I have been extremely happy with the service provided by Home Instead (Oldham & Saddleworth) for my aunt.
Delighted with the service provided by Home Instead. The carers are lovely and nothing is too much trouble for them. It gives me great peace of mind knowing that mum is in safe hands.
After suffering a wedge fracture of my back just before Christmas and living alone I was in desperate need of help whilst I recovered. Both my children live 40 minutes away and due to their own family circumstances couldn't give me the help I needed. My daughter contacted Home Instead on my behalf and the help and care they provided was excellent plus the support they gave to get me back to the point where I could cope on my own.
"Home Instead" is a very well-run and organised small service business. The carers they employ have all been vetted and approved and have nearly all had substantial experience. Each one is "introduced" to a prospective care customer. In the unusual event of a scheduled carer being unable to fulfil the appointment, a substitute is found and proposed to the customer.
We contacted Home Instead at a desperate time in our lives. The compassion, understanding and professionalism of the manager and care providers was a welcome relief from our first meeting. An assessment of our needs and the appropriate paperwork was completed very quickly and we secured one hour per day of support. This made a huge impact straight away, giving us time and 'head-space' to more easily manage medical requirements and appointments, making meals, keeping the house tidy etc, in addition to having someone to talk to and chat with (which we found was more valuable than we thought). Throughout, we have received a reliable, trustworthy, professional and personal service. We would certainly recommend Home Instead.
Very pleased with the carers - I have a one-hour session each morning, staff are punctual, polite and carry out my wishes for personal care. Help to supervise showering and hair washing when asked. If time allows, small household jobs are completed to a high standard. The carers are careful with my belongings, cheerful and do not waste time. I appreciate that the carers are regular ie. not changing very often except for holidays/illness. The office always informs me of any changes. Thank you for the schedules and paper copy invoices.
