View Full Details of Helping Hands Home Care (Derby)My experience with 'Helping Hands' has been very good. The carers do their job with care and consideration for my wife, Elizabeth. I have no complaints about anything. Some of the carers are very helpful with other minor problems, which I appreciate. Keep up the good work!!
Helping Hands have absolutely been the reason why mum can live independently in her home. As a family - peace of mind for mums' safety and happiness in the priority - all of this is provided by Helping Hands. The main carers are completely in charge of all matters to make mum's life good, and they ensure we adapt as a family to all the changes as mum gets older and care needs change.
I have been with Helping Hands since Jan 2025 who was recommended to me by a friend. I can honestly say I have no regrets. I have peace of mind knowing that I can rely on my 'helper' to keep my place of residence as I would wish it to be. Nothing is too much trouble.
Carers have all been of a high standard, and responsive to new requests as we try to settle into this new phase of life. Mum has been really happy too, even though she didn't think she needed any help! Please do thank all the team for their kind and caring support. We do appreciate their professionalism, and it gives us huge peace of mind to know she is being looked after by you all. Many Thanks
Very happy with the care.
The carers are very professional and compassionate. They make an effort to provide both practical and emotional support to my Mum. As well as the help with day to day living, having a friendly face and someone to chat to at the start of the day is very important. Meanwhile, the care provided has been so important to the rest of the family, as we know that someone is checking on Mum every morning. The carers contact me immediately if there is a problem. Moreover, the daily reports which can be accessed online are so valuable and enable me to work in partnership with the carers.
My experience of the team at Helping Hands for the past six months has been excellent, friendly, caring, experienced and supportive. The care has been for my husband, who has Alzheimer's disease and also has had a major operation for cancer. We would have been lost without Helping Hands, a very big thank you!
Extremely pleased with my regular carers. Everyone is cheerful and helpful. Only issue is sometimes not getting the rota early enough.
Excellent service and support and understanding of needs of care and wellbeing of care and mental health and knowledge of your needs and flexible support.
Dad needed care & help with a medical issue, but the help & care has grown into other assistance a 94 year old requires. Excellent service & lovely carers.
I enjoy the companionship of my live in carer. It gives me a chance to get to know them properly. They help me with everyday life, and we share a lot of laughs together.
Helping Hands has been looking after my mum for nearly a year following a nasty fall and a long stay in hospital. We are very happy with the care mum receives and she has built-up a good relationship with her carer. We are able to increase visits very easily if mum needs extra help. All the staff we have dealt with are very friendly and professional. Nothing is too much trouble.
Very happy with all the care I have received.
Most of the carers provide very good care. Sometimes they forget things but not all of them, and not often.
I have received a good standard of service from very helpful and pleasant staff.
Found our carer very good, efficient and pleasant at looking after my wife who is very pleased she is our carer. She also checks on what I do, makes suggestions on how to do it correctly. We both hope she stays as my wife carer for many years.
Choice of care provider is important. From the start Helping Hands Home Care (Derby) were impressive being able to care for my wife immediately. Helping Hands Home Care (Derby) carers promptly established close patient rapport. The response of a needy patient to a carers arrives needs to be instantly positive. It was a joy to see how a dismayed and confused sufferer could suddenly be smiling. Even though caring can be uncomfortable, friendly and confident treatment puts patients at ease. The Helping Hands team have caring in their bones. Wide ranges of skill and flexibility. From the straightforward to the unusual nothing surprised them. Quick reactions to changing situations. Contacting other services like District Nurses or even facilitating a change in regime. Carers who noticed things, a spot of blood in a catheter tube, a change of skin condition, whatever. Not just noticed... did something about it. It's not just the patients. Care is vital for others involved, loved ones, relatives; everybody. Helping Hands optimised their services for best value, especially important for self-funders. It's essential to recognise the emotional and financial strains that all parties are feeling. Helping hands quickly became like family.
Helping Hands are excellent care providers. They are professional, friendly, caring and really care about doing their best for the client. I feel my dad is in safe hands and I can relax knowing he is well looked after on the days family are not caring for him. Dad gets on really well with his carers and they all treat him with respect and as an individual person. My dad has a combination of vascular dementia and Alzheimers.
Satisfied with all aspects from administration to the care Dad receives. They understand that at the moment it is company needed but we presume this will change.
I started with Helping Hands around two years ago, and they started out being the best agency we, or at least I, had been with for my care. I would say that the first year was amazing, but unfortunately, in recent months the carers have not been up to the standard of care I was receiving in the early days.
