View Full Details of Helping Hands Home Care (Colchester)I had to look for a Care Company following Mums admission to Hospital due to a serious UTI A friend signposted me to Helping Hands (she works as a Volunteer) and I have never looked back Mum has Vascular Dementia and has gradually deteriorated in the past 5 years in terms of her cognitive abilities The Carers who have been assigned to her have been lovey and also relating to her condition A particular staff member has ensured that the Carers have been matched to her needs
I only became a client with Colchester Helping Hands on the 14th April, but I find the carers very good, those in the office very helpful & friendly. They seem to check regularly that the client is happy with the way things are going, which is good. No complaints from me so far. Long may it last. The company seems to have a very good reputation locally.
This company has cared for my mum recently. Thanks to Ivor and his amazing team of carers. who were compassionate kind gentle bubbly and very caring. would highly recommend they were also caring towards family which was lovely Thanks again.
I have a regular weekly visitor for household chores, mainly cleaning, and the carers are, on the whole, hardworking and pleasant. I have occasional extra help for personal care & meals - and carers are friendly. I prefer having a regular carer as I like the continuity, and some I get on better with. The service is very reliable and the staff are kind and helpful. I am sufficiently confident in the firm as to recommend them to 3 friends who have taken up the recommendation.
I have been with Helping Hands for 3 years and have been very pleased with the service I have received from all carers, especially one in particular and all the staff in the Colchester branch.
Exceptional care + service from Helping Hands Carers. Examples of going the extra mile, staying late with my father when my mother was taken to hospital, staying through their lunch break to avoid dad being alone for an hour the day after mum was hospitalised, fielding phone calls from engineers who wanted to come to the house.
I am pleased you invited this review of our carers. They have literally transferred the running of our lovely house and home. The standard of the carers in very high. In fact the carers are models of this type of work; confident, experienced and totally professional! Of course they vary in some ways - but all of them put our needs first. They often read a situation and modify how they plan to work that day. We look forward to them coming and enjoy a happy relationship with the whole team. Training is clearly good; standards are upheld by training and careful listening to clients needs (that day!) We are blessed to have the team of carers.
I have been involved with Helping Hands for many months, and so far have found all the care staff to be very pleasant to deal with and happy to do any task requested.
All girls are very satisfactory.
My mother has had care visits every day from Helping Hands Home Care for the last year and they've been largely fantastic - responsive to feedback and alert to Mum's needs. The carers themselves have all been lovely and dealing with Helping Hands at the office level has been really professional too. We've had a great experience and they helped us out hugely at a very difficult time.
Carers are always cheerful and do the tasks listed. Unfortunately, they rarely stray from the path and pick up rubbish on the floor or items of clothing that are obviously not meant to be on the floor. Change of carers is not notified. Have requested certain times which change for a week then timings go back to those which aren't suitable. New and replacement carers need to ask if they don't know something There also needs to be some education on recycling. Very few carers know what to recycle, even though they live in the area themselves!
I am very satisfied with the care and attention I have received.
We needed to agree an extension to the care arrangements for my mother. The manager visited my mother with me there and talked through what extra help was needed. He was very understanding and put my mother at ease and she felt happy and confident to proceed with the arrangements. All the staff at Helping Hands, (the carers and the team in the office) have been so lovely and supportive to my mother which we both greatly appreciate.
I had carers twice a week at that time but now I have them once a week as I have progressed a little more. They have a can-do mentality and have always done what was needed or asked of them. If I wasn't happy with them, I would vote with my feet.
My regular carers are the very best in the home care service. They all go the extra mile for me. They always leave me in a far more happy condition and confidence on their departure. I am so lucky to have them in my life.
