View Full Details of Helping Hands Home Care (Wigston)We engaged the services of Helping Hands Wigston when dad was struggling with dementia. The entire team have been amazing. They genuinely care and are friendly, flexible, professional, accommodating and I would highly recommend. The head office staff, wigston office staff and Helping Hands Wigston front line care workers are angels in purple uniforms!
Helping Hands Wigston was a calm lifeline when my mum needed regular daily support this year. Her support package was easy to set up and we were provided each week with a schedule of the care team mum would be seeing, which reassured her. Communication with the office staff was easy, and whenever changes needed to be made they happened promptly and professionally. I was contacted when there were things I needed to know to support mum or the care team, which showed that Mum's care was always their priority. As Mums health deteriorated and her care needs increased, the carers continued to make sure her needs were met and went above and beyond. Not only did the carers provide the care, they also provided friendship and company for mum, and meant I and her family could spend precious time with her and have peace of mind when we weren't with her. As a family, we are truly grateful and thankful for having Helping Hands Wigston support mum and us. A truly wonderful group of people.
I particularly wanted to leave a positive review for two carers who have stood out to me - and that is Jess and Justina. Jess has been looking after my Grandad for over a year, and she is a gem. She really cares about my grandad, and over time has formed a close bond with him and myself. She is patient and yet can put her foot down with my Grandad, who is at an advanced stage of dementia, in a loving manor when needed. Her caring heart has played a huge role in making my Grandads life, as tough as life is with dementia, much more comfortable. Grandad sees Jess as more the a paid carer, but a friend too. Me and my family are immensely grateful to Jess. Justina, although new to the team, has also stood out to me too. She is has such a gentle manor with my grandad, and deeply cares about him. She has such a listening ear to every query and request of my grandad. Her heart is gold. She makes an excellent carer, despite being new to the role. A big thank you to both of these lovely ladies.
Helping hands were invaluable for their advice, support, compassion, care and common sense approach to my wonderful stubborn aunt. She enjoyed their daily visits and it was immensely reassuring to me to know they were visiting. I can not thank them enough.
Helping Hands helped to look after my mum, who has dementia, for approx two years before she moved to a care home. We could not have asked for better care for my mum, or support for us as a family. Everyone was kind, patient and understanding and did their best to ensure that my mum was able to have the best quality of life possible. The carers treated mum with dignity and always tried to find solutions to potential problems. As my brother and I live a long way away, we really appreciated the thorough notes that the carers left in the online portal. They helped us to get a good impression of how Mum was getting on and the personal anecdotes made us smile. The office staff (who are also very much involved in the care) were quick to communicate any concerns and really went above and beyond when Mum's condition deteriorated, emergency services were involved and last minute changes to extend her care had to be made. We have no hesitation in recommending the Homecare team to others.
My Parents suddenly became unwell and were struggling to cope with living independently. Helping Hands were highly recommended. I found them responsive, compassionate and efficient to set up the care. They visited my parents and arrange the care quickly. The manager hand picked the wonderful carer (and her lovely colleagues) who have been amazing. Feeling medically better, they don't need the care so much, and have now cancelled. We feel we are welcome to call again should the need arise. They have been brilliant lifesaving angels. Genuinely recommend them. Reliable, Timely visits, Very kind carers, Value for money, Responsive, and Cover for any leave carers needed to take. Really positive experience - thanks so much. I felt better that I knew they were going in.
Helping Hands Wigston have been caring for my Uncle and my mother since 2023 and have been nothing short of fantastic! The carers have all been extremely kind, well trained and professional. The administration of the service is second to none; nothing is too much trouble. Every communication with the office has been handled efficiently and in a timely manner. Both my Uncle and my mother looked forward to their care visits and their well being improved because of quality of the attention they received. We particularly appreciated the detailed daily online reports from the carers that we could access within minutes of the care visit taking place. It was so reassuring to get this immediate update. We are so grateful for all the help we received from the administrator and her team and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
All carers are absolutely amazing, they give the upmost care, kindness, respect and friendship, very conscientious and aware of what needs to be done. Staff in office are lovely too, though sometimes lack of communication to carers and family when messages/requests/thanks/recognition has been shared sometimes it's not passed on, in particular from the 6mth reviews with family members.
Helping Hands is very supportive, reliable, flexible and comforting. Helping Hands tries as hard to schedule the same carers. This makes life easier, as it is invaluable to have history with my Mum and the daily requirements of my Mum.
I have a morning care visit, (now at the better time for me at 8.00am rather than 9.00am) Monday to Friday. The carers are invaluable in helping me to get shaved, showered and dressed as well as making me a lunchtime sandwich that goes in the fridge. Both carers are very caring and thorough in setting me up for the day ahead. I do require personal care and this always takes place without any fuss. This enables me to enjoy my day and also helps my wife enjoy her day at work, without worrying about me. I enjoy chatting too and we have built up a good carer and client relationship over time.
Outstanding care and engagement from the whole team who support my Mother. Kindness and professionalism every step of the way. Patient centric care is at the heart of everything they do for Mum. Nothing is too much bother. Flexible in times of need. Thank you.
Helping Hands Wigston Leics supported my 94 year old Dad when he left hospital 3 years ago. The Manager met us both and from that minute the team stepped in and have delivered the most sensitive and respectful care. They are reliable, caring and Dad has come to see the team as part of his extended family. We have increased hours over the years and this Christmas we needed extra help. No problem at all. The online portal is brilliant. I can read how Dad is every day. The office team are always helpful - nothing is ever too much trouble. Thank you Helping Hands. We couldn't manage without you.
We used Helping Hands for mum between April and December 2024 as mum's dementia progressed. We have been very happy with the care she has received. All the carers have been kind and patient, and apart from the occasional hiccup, the care plan has been followed properly. On the rare occasions I noticed something had been missed/forgotten etc. I was able to speak to someone in the office and it would be rectified. I was always contacted if the staff had anything unusual or untoward to report. Also, I received a lot of emotional support on the phone, particularly from two members of staff. I found the service to be very flexible, changing visit times when needed etc. Overall, a very positive experience.
A particular member of staff and team have cared for my mother very well over the last few years. When we have had issues from both sides, we have always been able to discuss them openly and honestly and find a suitable resolution for both parties. All credit must be given to the carer's dedication and commitment, often working long and unsociable hours. I only wish our financial situation would allow us to continue with their care and that pay in this sector could be significantly increased to better compensate for this vital and often undervalued service they provide!
I have a bath three times a week. This I am helped with. The bath is filled the water tested to make sure it is safe for me to be lowered into the water with care. This is done with love and understanding. I know what I can and can't do and they work around that. Many thanks for all the assistance I appreciate all that the ladies do for me.
Helping Hands Home Care (Wigston) were a lifeline for my Nan. They treated her with compassion and respect and made my Nan feel safe to stay at home knowing they were coming to her multiple times a day. They were friendly and on many occasions went above and beyond and for this as her family, we were extremely grateful. In her last days, they were a comfort not only to my Nan but for us too and I honestly wouldn't hesitate to recommend them over and over again. They are an amazing team and deserve the highest praise!
The Helping Hands team have been absolutely fantastic. They have supported us at a difficult time and provided a friendly face at all times. Nothing has been too much trouble. Would not hesitate to use them again if needed.
We arranged for Helping Hands to help with at-home care for my mum from May 2022 until she was admitted to a hospice at the end of August. Each and every one of Mum's carers, from the start date until the end date, were absolutely fabulous. They all cared for her (and at the start, I think Mum was probably a bit difficult!), but with time, she loved all the lovely carer's visits and loved their company. They were all so professional yet compassionate to Mum's needs. I would recommend Helping Hands to anyone that is in need of care at home. They were brilliant.
Under all circumstances, Helping Hands Home Care Wigston ensure that we receive a competent carer every day - fulfillment of agreed contract is 100%. Conduct of all carers is exemplary - those familiar with our situation successfully retain their knowledge of the processes needed to be undertaken and the carers execute very efficiently, reliably and repeat-ably. Carers new to us rapidly assimilate knowledge of processes and during the assimilation process, they exhibit obvious concern to make sure all details are noted and learned. By also showing concern for my Father who is my Mothers primary carer, the Helping Hands care goes above and beyond the minimum required. The carers add value by ensuring that they get to know us as people and understand our situation. Once the execution of essential care processes is complete, the carers will use any remaining time available during visits to not only provide company for my Mother but also provide very much appreciated conversation and understanding for my Father.
We have found all the carers very kind and thoughtful in caring for my husband. If I have any special requests they carry them out. The office is helpful in making arrangements, or if I have to change arrangements for any reason.
