View Full Details of Sphere Specialist HealthcareI am very happy with the care that's being provided and most importantly my son is happy he always looks forward to the lads coming to take him out they are always on time and try to provide him with lots of different activities and take him to places like flamingo land which he had a lot of fun when he went with the lads I got told he went on every ride and had soo much fun he came home really happy.
The manager and her team provide daily support to my Aunt. They are caring, reliable and flexible. I always find them easily contactable, kind and sensitive to the situation. During a recent incident they were incredibly supportive, willing to consider alternative solutions and did what they could to give me the reassurance that they were ready and able to provide the care needed when necessary.
First carers were fantastic, supporting alongside me, supporting my elderly mother. Then the manager got involved in the later care and it became manic. We had late calls, missed calls, missed enablement. Basics were not covered. Staff were ran ragged. The end result was mother going into a home.
My sister has had two previous care companies in the past!! But wishes she had had sphere in from her first call!! Dated back to 2011!! Very professional clean smart group of carers!! My sister just needs to ask for something been attended to and they oblige without any quibbles!! They respect her as a person not just someone with a disability!! They have a laugh together!! If there was a score above 10 would rate 20!!
Really impressed with the level of care my grandad had really made him happy and comfy.all of the carers are brilliant and friendly. Communication was always spot on and the willingness to go the extra mile to keep grandad happy and laughing. I really appreciate everything they all have done for him great care company and brilliant team work and ethics.
Experience of 5 members of caring staff in the first of weeks of care were all positive. Quick& efficient but not brusque or rushed. most importantly maintaining dignity for a first time user . Overall a solid impression of professional competence.
Very kind and efficient carers have been looking after both of my elderly parents who suffer from early dementi. The manager has been so sweet ensuring that my mum is involved in cooking when there is time to do so across the various visits in the day. The main carers are fabulous and trusted as if members of our family. They prepare food, do top-up shops, encourage my parents to eat, manage medications ordering and dispensing, and ensure my parents are safely clean, and they do all the washing. They communicate really well with me and my siblings including in a messaging group we have set up for this purpose. We are so lucky to have this company covering the Thropton area.
DO NOT recruit this company for any element of care you may need. It is the most unprofessional, non compliant company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. The manager treats her staff as slaves, not allowing days off, does not provide relevant & essential training. Staff never know from one day to the next when they are working. Service users are told who will be providing their care & then different carers turn up. Staff are expected to carry out duties they haven't been trained in, consequently mistakes are made. I was hospitalised due to negligence in my care that could have been fatal had the emergency service not been called into my home. Following a repeat of similar negligence that initially put me in hospital the management were held accountable again & because they don't like it when family have a voice, they decided to withdraw their service with immediate effect, leaving me with no care at all from a Friday evening just as adult services were closing.
Avoid this company at all costs. They were contracted to provide care to my adult son following a spinal cord injury last year. After 11 months in hospital he was discharged home with Sphere placed to take care of his complex needs 7 days per week. This company is so badly managed by the manager who feels it acceptable not to give staff a day off, works her team to the point of exhaustion, staff told me this is how they felt. Expected the staff to carry out elements of care without being trained, again I was told this by individuals. Mistakes in my sons care resulted in him being admitted to hospital suffering from a condition that can be fatal. A week later a very similar mistake was made again, thankfully it did not result in hospital. I chose to put in a formal complaint for gross negligence and started to look for a new care provider, however the manager decided to contact adult services and withdraw the service with immediate effect, what responsible care company would do that!
Very disappointed with this care company. Blinds and curtains unopened, bed not made and commode not emptied! Used the excuse that my mother was too aggressive so they then got funded to send two carers in! The basic things were still not done. They knew the nature of my mother's cognitive impairment when they took her on but still couldn't manage to do the basics. Even when the manager was one of the two carers going in, the basics were still not done.
All the staff are lovely, the are very well trained, friendly and caring. They always make sure my needs are being met and help me access the community. They made a tailored plan to me and my needs and everyone who works there makes sure they are all meeting that plan.
I have used Sphere the home care for a while now and find it very satisfactory, the staff are good, kind and efficient. And take this opportunity to thank all concerned.
I've been using Sphere Specialist Healthcare services for just over six months now to support me in looking after my elderly mother, who requires help in maintaining her quality of life and personal hygiene. Sphere has provided me with a consistent team of mainly locally based carers (I live in a rural area), so should an emergency situation arise I feel someone will always be available to assist me. Seeing the same familiar faces is a huge factor in providing my mother with a settled state of mind. The carers are highly proficient, well-trained and friendly, allowing my mother and myself to build professional relationships with them. In addition, the carers allow me a degree of flexibility to carry out activities outside of the home which contributes to my own mental and physical well-being. Knowing my mother is in safe hands, should I be away, is a great comfort. In short, my experience of the services Sphere provide has been nothing but positive and I would not hesitate to recommend them to others.
Needs a lot of work. The carers themselves are lovely but the manager has a lot to be desired, no people skills whatsoever. Carers are not allocated with correct times that they should be with each client. Many times 1 carer turns up when the care package states 2, don’t turn up on time and clients don’t get informed of this. Medication is left for the clients to take on their own because the care staff don’t have the time to stay and make sure the client has taken it at the correct time. We have also rang CQC and out of hours for guidance.
