I would highly recommend Vermuyden care.

The manager listened when developing the care plan. Mum was included too. Once the carers got used to mum everything seems to be being done. Very respectful to mum and her home. Would recommend this team.

Vermuyden provided excellent care for my mother; from first email contact, through visits to set up contracts to the care service provided and following her passing.  The carers were professional, compassionate and kind.  They were pro-active and creative in exploring how to personalise the care provided for my mother, particularly as she didn't find losing her independence and having to accept care easy.  The care team understood this and always treated her with respect and patience, which brought with it great peace of mind and comfort for family. I recommend Vermuyden wholeheartedly..

My mother has been receiving care from Vermuyden Care Selby since late May 2025. I was worried about how my mother would settle into the new routine and be able to relate to other people helping her with her personal care. I had no need to worry at all. The carers, indeed all the staff I have met with or spoken to over the phone, have been the most professional carers I have ever met, much better than anyone from North Yorkshire County Council Social services which I approached for my mother and in 2014 for my father.There is never a problem with Vermuyden, the ladies who work with my mother are professional, caring, cheerful and thoughtful. They understand the needs of elderly people. I am very grateful to them that they are so caring and that my mother is comfortable and looks forward to their visits. I am relieved and their visits have taken a great weight off my shoulders and made my life easier. I would highly recommend Vermuyden Care Selby

My Dad has been looked after by the carers here and they are all lovely and have my Dad's best interests at heart. In particular one member of staff has been there a lot recently and wow, what a superstar she is! The place is so clean and organised to such a high standard! We are really happy and impressed. And another member of staff's personal care for dad is second to none always making sure he is comfortable and happy. Thank you to the whole team!

I was very worried about having carers in the home mum and I share but from day one every staff member has put both mum and I at ease and eight weeks in both mum and I have relaxed. The staff are very patient with mum and encourage her to help herself as much as she can. When they are in with her I can hear them all laughing and joking together which is lovely to hear. It makes me feel like some of the pressure of looking after mum has lifted from my shoulders they always inform me if there is anything of concern that I should know it really feels like a caring partnership

My dad has been receiving care from Vermuyden for just over a month now and I cannot fault the carers or the management team. They all are very committed, caring and extremely helpful with every aspect of the care my dad receives.

My mum has been using the services of Vermuyden Care since late December last year and she was very apprehensive if not scared of having carers coming and going in her home. 2 months in and my mum is happy and relaxed, with every carer making sure they get to know my mum and her likes and interests and take the time to interact and chat with her. The branch manager is exceptional and, for the first few days of care, contacted me daily to make sure everything was ok and provide any feedback. She is incredibly proactive at contacting me and keeping me in the loop with Mum and her care needs. The entire team really do go above and beyond and care about Mum's day-to-day well-being and happiness.

The Selby office is well managed and the managers take the time to really get to know mum's changing needs, often putting on their aprons and taking rota slots to stay in touch. I have full confidence in all mum's carers and have peace of mind that any day to day issues will be addressed with the minimum of fuss. Reliable, flexible and caring.

I cannot thank the carers and the coordinators enough for the care they provided to my mum and the compassion they showed her when she needed it the most. With living away it was always going to be quite difficult, however they kept me updated with any concerns and stayed with her if needed. Also trying to come up with ideas about what would work better for her. Thank you!

Since having carers, I can honestly say what a wonderful team they are. They are very kind, caring, considerate, helpful and go above and beyond and I can highly recommend them, as they really help me. Definitely the best company out there.

Carers go above and beyond for my brother, he is happy and so relaxed, gets on with all the carers, he tells me he likes them all, and can not fault them, It is lovely to know my brother is happy and well cared for, 5* treatment.

I used Vermuyden Care for a couple of months to help me with my physio on my ankle. The team of girls were amazing. They were very polite and respectful, they look into consideration my limitations on my ankle and did not push me too far. I would highly recommend using this care company!

Mum seems very happy with the care she's receiving from Vermuyden. The staff are friendly and attentive and good relationships are being built between the carers and Mum now that she is getting to know them. Any issues are dealt with quickly by the office so all in all, everything is progressing well.

Although, it would be good if I knew the times of care visits prior to visits.
