We have been using Maplewood for 2 months now to provide 2 hours per week additional support for my 89yr old independent living mother. This is mostly social interaction along with helping her with her daily mobility exercises, changing bed sheets, checking any dressings and some light housework. On occasion, when either my sister or I have not been able to take her to an appointment, Maplewood have stepped in and taken her, supported her and brought her home - sometimes by way of a cafe stop! The team are brilliant - and special thanks to Lou and particularly Robin - who has brought a real smile to my mother every week; he is gentle, caring and takes a real interest in her and her interests making the whole experience for my mother more one of companionship rather than care. The reassurance that we get as a family that she is in safe hands is huge. We can't rate them highly enough.

I am the carer for my wife who, following a severe stroke, has significant communication, memory and mobility issues. However, I was aware that I would require cover for her care should I have to attend my own hospital appointments, etc. I made contact with Maplewood Independent Living, who arranged for a carer to make regular social visits to familiarise herself with my wife's needs and the home layout. This social interaction has been beneficial in itself and has given the required peace of mind should full involvement with my wife's care be required.

I met Alice at a point where the option of care, in the form of home visits, for my mum was on the cards but we just didn't know where to start. Alice was so reassuring and professional - she took the time to understand the specifics of what we were hoping for and was able to put in place an ideal package for us. Louisa now visits weekly and has gone above and beyond our expectations. I would highly recommend Maplewood.

Maplewood looked after my late father. They were way to contact and quickly responded to our request for support for dad. Dad looked forward to his regular carers visiting. They offered fabulous practical. support and just as importantly for dad he valued their companionship and chats. Thank you to the whole team.

When my father had a fall and was admitted into hospital, he was discharged with a care package. Whilst his neighbour's were temporarily able to help, I found that at short notice, I needed someone to look after my Dad and Alice, and her team stepped up and really helped when we needed someone. Their reception staff are always available and very helpful. The visiting carers are wonderful, reliable, and so encouraging.
