Carer through my tablets in the bin and the care company wouldn't refund me the tablets cost and then the manager had an attitude problem on the phone. Some of the carers were ok but overall not a good experience from the care company.

At AS Care , we take matters of medication management extremely seriously and have strict procedures in place to ensure its safe management. Following your concerns, we reviewed our records relating to your care. The care worker that attended your visit, confirmed that no medication was removed or misplaced during or after the visit in question, and the necessary documentation supports this. While we appreciate there may have been a misunderstanding, we are confident that our team followed the appropriate processes.
We understand you requested reimbursement for the medication you purchased. However, our care worker confirmed that your medication was not moved or removed. Nonetheless, I believe our senior team offered to support in replacing the medication via your GP, though I understand you declined support. We are happy to revisit this option again if you wish. I would just like to say a huge thank you to the carer who looks after my dad in Castleford. She has been one of my dad’s carers for a while now but he has come out of hospital needing much more care. The carer treats my dad with kindness and respect, all whilst meeting all of his needs. She is professional,
compassionate and warm. The other carer is also very professional and understands everyone’s needs as in individual. Thank you also to two other carers for their support, care and kindness to my dad.

My mother is 96 years old and needs a lot of care in her home. She was admitted to hospital in September for 4 weeks. On her discharge, she was not that good but the carers from AS Care are really understanding with her as needs a lot of attention mainly because she is partially sighted and has very
poor mobility. The carers are very thoughtful with her and inform me straight away if they have any concerns. They also advise me if things that can help are required. Can’t recommend them highly enough.

AS Care have been absolutely fantastic with the care they have given to my mother-in-law. I cannot fault any of their carers, they all communicate with my mother-in-law and myself keeping us all well informed and very happy. In my eyes, they are angels. All my family can't thank AS Care enough.

I and my family found that all who cared for my husband did an excellent job and they treated him with dignity which helped me come to terms that I could no longer take care of him, they treated me with care and understanding. From myself and my family heartfelt thanks to all.

Times or carer changed without being informed. They do not review care for any changes and never collect log sheets for auditing. Carer staying shorter length of time and not washing or changing pads or night wear. They keep the same gloves on for washing commode and dealing with drinks and do not ask
if need the client needs anything to eat. Administration in office very poor.
Reply from Shahida Khan, Quality Officer at AS Care ServicesThe care package started with Carewatch in 2017, initially, there were some teething problems. All the issues which the son raised were addressed with each carer individually as well as regular field observations conducted on those carers in the care package.

The son personally attended our offices and complimented the service provided in 2017.

An updated care plan has been completed with the son due to changes in his mother's needs. Son was also given the option to change the care provider if he felt our services were not meeting his mother’s needs.

From June 2017 to present March 2019 we continue to provide care to his mother with consistent regular care workers. We are monitoring the care package every 6 x months with onsite reviews and regular telephone monitoring. A weekly rota is regularly being sent out to the son so that he and his mother are aware of which carers are attending at what times. The coordinator is also making regular contact with the son to update him if there are any changes to the care package.
