Agincare UK Ferndown is a home care agency that provides services of a high standard for older people, young adults and children living in Wimborne, Ferndown and Ringwood.

General home care services are offered for those wishing to live independently at home, alongside more specialist care for those with dementia, physical disabilities and learning disabilities.

Staff are selected that have strong skills of compassion and relevant care experience. Candidates are then carefully vetted and CRB and fully reference checked. Intensive training is then undertaken, with ongoing support given to the team to make sure standards are continually high.

Key care decisions are communicated to all relevant parties on a regular basis.

Individuals are treated with kindness, care and compassion.

Most carers are conscientious and kind, taking note of patient requests .
Just a small number are in and out as quickly as they possibly can , and do not take enough care of waste disposal or patient requests.

We had really good service from your care providers for 4 weeks when my husband was sent home from hospital. Took great care with him and were very helpful efficient team.
We are now receiving sitting care from Agincare provider which is working well.

Mum has used Agincare's home care for some years following increasing frailty. Visits are 4 times per day and requested visit times vary depending on carer schedules but generally work for Mum's needs. Regular carers who know Mum's required care are respectful and empathetic but those scheduled to visit
who are not regulars sometimes struggle to understand her routine. Staff in the local office are on hand during office hours with an out-of-hours service available where issues arise. They will also call with updates where they feel the family should be informed of any situations or concerns. They deal with the local GP when required which is reassuring as our family is not local to Mum. Overall the service provided is good and you should consider Agincare when looking for home care.

Sarah Richards

Job Title: Registered Manager Joined: 2023

Sarah became Registered Manager for the Poole branch in August 2023 and has worked in care for 22 years.


Sarah began working for Agincare in 2011 and flourished within the role. In 2016, Sarah was asked by her branch manager at the time if she would consider becoming a Field Care Supervisor and Sarah jumped at the opportunity to progress in her career and successfully completed the interview. A few years later in 2019, Sarah stepped in as acting manager for the Agincare Weymouth branch to cover maternity leave. After returning to her previous role, Sarah realised she needed more, so when the opportunity arose, Sarah took the Dual Manager role in Poole and Ferndown.


At home, Sarah is kept busy with her 4 children and loves to visit new places with her husband. Sarah loves spending time with family, especially looking after her grandchildren.
