From the first meeting to discuss care for my dad, I have found Blue Bird to be an excellent Care Provider.
Communication is fantastic and they give regular reviews to see if there is anything more they can do and if you are happy with the care given. Anything I have wanted added to my dad's care plan, it has been done straight away. The Carers that I have met have always been very professional, polite and in full uniform. They treat my father with dignity.
The out of hours messaging system is fantastic and we get a reply really quickly from the office. The carers are really good with notes on the open pass so we know exactly how my father is after every call.

My experience of the care given by Blue Bird staff is exceptional. I would definitely recommend them to others without hesitation.

Overall Experience

I was introduced to the new manager, previously there had not been one for months. I had no real issues with the company in general I am happy with everything except a lot of staff wear false or acrylic nails and varnish which frighten me for skin problems. No one steps them.

We can't recommend the Bluebird team highly enough! They are so helpful and approachable and feel more like friends helping us with mum's care. Overall Experience

The care provided by the Bluebird team is excellent. The staff are very friendly, polite, patient and reassured my mum (aged 101) is in safe hands. The staff are always going above and beyond their remit when attending to Mum's needs. They also spent time chatting with Mum, which is a massive positive for her mental wellbeing.

Overall Experience

Bluebird Care have been able to come and care for my husband at a very difficult time. The help of their staff has been invaluable to both of us. Unused to asking for help, we found the transition to accept care made easy. It all worked out extremely easy and well organised.

I’ve found the staff very helpful and caring during this difficult time. I live 2 hours away which the staff are aware of and keep me in the loop over my mum's care and have supported me to get extra care. The staff are aware of my mother's need and try to facilitate these and have looked at working around during the Covid lockdowns.

John Donald

John Donald is both the franchisee and Care Manager at Bluebird Care Carlisle. He has a wealth of experience in the field of Health and Social Care with over 30 years spent working in a variety of settings with a wide range of client groups including older adults, learning disabilities and mental health.

For many years he managed services within the NHS and Local Authority, providing support services for individuals within the community.

Sandie Donald
Sandie was a teacher for 27 years and taught children with profound and multiple learning difficulties and disabilities, and as a principal teacher, managed a large staff team of teachers and teaching assistants. She has a Bachelor of Education (Hons) degree, a post-graduate certificate in Additional Support for Learning and a Masters degree in Enhanced Practice in Education and Leadership.
Sandie loves working as part of the dedicated team at Bluebird Care Carlisle and is passionate about supporting the development and delivery of quality, bespoke care services to all Bluebird Care customers.

Sandie likes to be busy and enjoys running, cycling, learning to play golf, painting and drawing, playing the drums and singing and performing with Dumfries community choir.

Samantha Lynn
Samantha has worked in the care sector for 20 years including working with people with cerebral palsy and learning difficulties. She joined Bluebird Care in November 2010 as a carer before joining the office team as a care coordinator and is now a care supervisor. Samantha has a GNVQ advanced in health and social care and is trained as a train the trainer in moving and handling and the safe administration of medicines.
Samantha enjoys supporting the team and is passionate about delivering a high standard of care to all our customers. She is compassionate and caring and works well in the team and uses her own initiative as a lone worker.

When not working Samantha enjoys socialising with friends and going on holidays.

Emma Millar
Emma has 8 years of care experience. She started out as a care assistant and then became a senior carer in a care home before doing her NVQ level 5 and managing a small residential care home. Emma values the importance of teamwork and enjoys still being hands-on in the care side as well as working within the office. Emma believes this enables the office team to do a better job as we have a good understanding of the needs of both the service users and our carers out in the community.

In her spare time, Emma enjoys spending time with her 3 children and husband and going out with her friends. She also enjoys going to concerts, fell walking and just being outside as much as possible.

Molly Park
Molly joined Bluebird in March 2020 as a carer and has been working in the office since November 2021 as one of the care coordinators. Molly has a level 3 extended diploma in sport and a silver Duke of Edinburgh award received after trekking in the Borneo rainforest while living in Brunei.
Before working in care Molly was a lifeguard and has previously worked alongside children with learning difficulties/disabilities coaching trampolining.

When Molly isn’t working, she enjoys going to the gym, cooking new food, drinking wine, going for a sunbed, and trampolining. She has a family dog called Brooke, who came from a rescue shelter when her family was living in Cyprus.
