The admission date for a total knee replacement loomed - living on my own and with an age in the top 70s. I phoned mulholland - yes, they could help. I booked them for an hourly visit every morning - OTT everyone said but for me it was perfect.
On my first morning home, their carer arrived with a ring of the bell and a cheerful hello. I was helped to get washed, dressed and given breakfast. The carer would clear up the debris from the day before - which always makes one feel better, make my bed and basically would help with whatever was needed. As the days passed I grew in confidence and they were simply "there" when I washed, dressed and prepared my breakfast. They were happy to water my early bedding plants, be with me when I went out for my first few walks, and always washed and renewed my supply of glasses containing fresh water which i had littered throughout my home.
