I would not touch this firm with a bargepole staff don't stick to the times that they are supposed to come if you complain to the manager she just comes up with some lame excuses she hasn't a clue what she is doing it's about time social services sorted this company out and threaten to close them down.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I'm genuinely sorry to hear that you've felt let down by the timing of some visits. We never want anyone to feel unsure about when their carers will arrive.
Just to clarify, carers can arrive up to 30 minutes earlier or later than the...
Quality Homecare supported my mother for a number of years until she passed away in April this year. The care she received was fantastic. The girls that supported her throughout the most difficult times were always caring, compassionate and understanding to all of her needs. I cannot thank them enough for all the support they gave her. There was a certain member of staff in particular who was so understanding to the very end. Carers do one of the most difficult jobs for which they do not get the praise they truly deserve. I will always be thankful for the support they gave my mother, which allowed her to keep her independence and live in her own home.
Looked after my mum and went overboard to facilitate care mum needed. When mum had a fall didn't go to next client, stayed with her till she was taken to the hospital. Provided all help needed and more.
However, this time I was surprised at how inept they've become.
In early July I requested that they take care of my mother from August 10th until the 21st. This was all confirmed.
On the 20th of July, I spoke with a gentleman at the office about changing the dates by 2 days and he told me he'd phone me back. He never returned the call so after 3-4 days I rang back. I was not only informed that the dates couldn't be changed, which I expected due to the lateness of the request. I was then informed that they couldn't supply a service for the original dates which had already been confirmed by them.
At no time did anyone try and contact me to let me know that they were unable to attend my mother in any capacity.
I only found this out by phoning them myself on the 28th of July.
My very elderly mother has been receiving home care from Quality Homecare (Barnsley), for the last 2 and a half years, with a mixed experience of the service.
I am, however, very pleased to say that in the last 3 weeks, since her return from time in respite care, we have found the service from Quality Homecare to be much improved. With less than 36 hours notice they put in place a service which we have found to be responsive, flexible, caring and reliable. We hope it continues as such!
Staff always complaining not having the time to carry out duties due to time allocation. Not always reliable. Incorrect billing. When staff not available we were asked by the office if we could manage by ourselves. Some staff not able to carry out duties for the clients due to their physical build .
