The organisation aims to deliver individually designed care that meets each person’s unique needs and preferences. Service users are supported to live confidently in their own homes, with care tailored on a one-to-one or shared-care basis. Accommodation is available through a sister company, offering secure tenancies across eleven properties, including single and shared homes.
Each service user holds a tenancy agreement and has a detailed care and support plan supported by thorough risk assessments. A digital recording system, accessible to service users and families, ensures transparency and consistent high-quality care.
Support may include:
• Meal preparation and cooking
• Budgeting and tenancy management
• Domestic tasks, laundry, and shopping
• Safety awareness
• Developing and maintaining relationships
• Assistance with GP, hospital, dental and optical appointments
• Medication support
• Emotional, psychological, and personal care
Independence is encouraged through daily observation, guidance, and positive reinforcement.
Service users also enjoy a wide range of social activities such as swimming, discos, social clubs, crafts, sports, bowling, cinema trips, lunches out, day trips, and holidays. With five service vehicles and excellent local transport, individuals are supported to access community opportunities and lead active, enjoyable lives.

My son has beeen a resident at Sherbutt Residential Services for some 20 years. I have never had any cause for concern. He is happy, well occcupied , and well cared for . He is always happy to go Home to Sherbutt when he has had a weekend/ holiday with Mum. That tells me alot. . Staff are always welcoming, take interest in what he has been doing and what is next for him. Even when his health deteriorated they take the lead and ensure his needs are met.
His life is very active, physically and socially, and has has many friends . He really enjoys his life at Sherbutt, which is very importantfor him and his family take confidence in his care there. Long may it continue.......

After my daughter's previous supported living arrangements broke down I contacted sherbutt home care. From the moment I contacted them I knew I had made the right choice for my daughter. It's a family run company who truly care for their clients . They went over and above helping me through the challenges of the transition . Nothing was too much trouble they made my daughter feel safe and valued and supported. The attention to detail regarding my daughter's care plan so they can support her needs is outstanding . The communication is excellent and I can always ring them with any concerns and have a friendly conversation . My daughter's friendship circle has grown as she now participates in outings with other clients . As well as doing her own chosen activities It is like one big family and they all live within walking distance of or next door to each other in the lovely town of Pocklington .
I cannot recommend sherbutt enough if you are looking for a place for your loved one .

My overall feeling in relation to Sherbutt is that they instil a feeling of confidence in both my daughter and me.
For me this means I have confidence that she will be - not just looked after - but cared for. Any issue that arises (and there are few) I can approach any member of staff and know the matter will be dealt with quickly and communicated back to myself of the action taken and the outcome.
The staff are magnificent - often going above and beyond what is required.
The facilities are excellent and well maintained.
In respect of my daughter, she feels comfortable approaching any member of staff for help, advice and guidance and she will be listened to.
I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Sherbutt and its' staff to anyone seeking high quality care for their loved one.

Our experience with the care home has exceeded all expectations. All staff are professional, understanding of our daughter's needs, and they are always kind and compassionate. The transition into the Care home has been exceptional. It started as 1 day per week and was full time within a 2 month period. The range of daily activities is awesome, swimming, walking, drama classes, gym classes, craft exercises, outings, pantomimes, museums, shopping, cooking, cleaning.. there is never a dull moment.
Perhaps more importantly is our daughter's thoughts on her new home. She LOVES HER care home! Her bedroom is perfect. She has four housemates and prefers to socialise with her housemates in the common lounge rather than be alone in her own room. She never complains of being bored as every day is an adventure. Remarkably she knows the first name of every staff member at the home and they all know her! Whenever we visit her, she always has a smile on her face! Our daughter has never been so happy.
