My poor relative has been so upset and distressed by the change from his previously excellent care team.
Thank you for your feedback. We are very sorry to hear that your relative has felt distressed - this is never what we want for anyone receiving our care. We do need to clarify that our carers must follow strict food-safety and health & safety rules. This means we cannot reheat food prepared by...
All in all, both Mum and myself are happy with Walnut Care.
Care is not being provided as per specification of the agreement, care is being charged for when no care has been provided. This is happening week after week and month after month. This is totally unacceptable.
Thank you for your feedback. I'm very sorry to hear about the issues you've experienced with our care services and billing. This is not the standard we aim to deliver, and I understand your frustration. We are urgently reviewing the care records and billing history to identify and correct any...
10 out of 10. Excellent service.
What can we say. Thank you for the response I will let the team know. I hope we carry on with the excellent service.
Carers are polite, friendly and respectful, however management is severely lacking. Office staff seem to have no idea what is involved with being a carer and should all be put on a one-week shadowing experience to fully understand the pressures they put on the carers.
Thank you for your positive comments about the carers. We can assure you that the vast majority of the office staff are either still active carers or have had care experience in the past. We apologise for any break down in communication and welcome the opportunity to discuss your comments further in person.
Over the past month, the care my husband has received from the carers of Walnut Care has been exemplary. My husband has had Covid, so carers have had to administer care on full PPE in hot weather, they have done so with kindness, professionalism and a sense of humour.
Caring for one's loved one in a challenging situation is always difficult. I am so pleased we have pulled it off in such a great way and we kept our sense of humour, a bonus!
The carers are helpful, caring and very good.
I am so pleased to hear that the carers are helpful, caring and good. I will let them know at their next team meeting. Thank you for your positive comments.
My carers visit 3 times a day. At all times they are caring, respectful and helpful and their attitude is excellent too. In my home care, I am treated as an individual and in my care we discuss this. We have fun too. They enable me to live at home safely.
Thank you for giving us the privilege to care for you over the many years. May we have many more years of fun.
When I contacted Walnut Care my mother was still in hospital as I was unsure how much notice would be required to access their services. I was very pleased when I received a follow-up call from the manager within a few minutes. He explained in detail how it works and that I would be contacted by the manager who covered my area, this happened as promised and the manager came to see my mother the day after her hospital discharge. She was very thorough in establishing exactly what was required by my mother. She went through the details so that they could be sure that whichever member of staff attended they would know exactly what to do, this proved to be the case. An estimated arrival time was agreed with my mother and the carers arrived within that window every time. The carers helped my mother with personal care and meal preparations. This was all done with care and attention. The carers were friendly and I would certainly use Walnut Home Care should the need arise in the future.
Following a poor experience with the first provider, we were really happy with the initial meeting with Walnut Care. They were professional, spoke to my father-in-law and treated him like a person rather than a job they had to do.
Their paperwork was in-depth and easy for us as a family to review and understand what care was being given, as well as know what sort of mood he had been in and what he had eaten/drunk that day.
I would like to take this chance to thank two particular members of staff. They are both assets to the company and not only helped my father-in-law during the last months of his life but also assisted us as a family, taking their time to speak to us and also attending out of hours when other local services let us know after my father in law sustained a fall.
I would strongly recommend this care provider and wouldn’t hesitate to use them again in the future.
Walnut Care were the caregivers for my father from August 2023 when he left hospital until he passed away in early October. His care package was increased to 2 carers coming 4 times a day and they really looked after him and his dog. They were so kind to him and nothing appeared too much trouble. Even when he neared the end of his life and became unresponsive they still treated him as though he was alert. I really don't know how we would have managed without them.
Always ask how my mother-in-law is feeling and how she slept. Care is 100% effort to make sure she is fed and taken care of - taken to the kitchen and bedroom again. Happy with how she is treated with dignity. Care staff always smiling and make simple conversation.
Walnut Care has cared for my father in Horncastle over the last year. Led by the Manager the standard of care is mostly very good indeed. Problems are addressed if you go to her. My father's carer and the girls did their very best and my father liked the majority. Thank you. One real problem is the main office does not answer the phone and this causes frustration. Care plans need regular updating and young staff need better induction. Kindness though to the patient was great. Many thanks.
Thank you for your kind words. We are working on the problems with responding to everyone in a timely manner and hope this will improve soon.
Walnut Care At Home are providing excellent care for my mother at home. All the ladies are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Well done to all.
We had this agency in to look after my dad. The staff were very good in looking after him until he went into the hospital with telling us when he needed to come out, contacting us and we put the care in place again. Needless to say, we have just tried to do this, they did not ring us to let us know that there wasn't care space left for him on their books. We found this out through a nurse at hospital. What would it have cost for this company to let us know personally, would have been yes to recommend to others but for this.
Walnut cared for my parents at home for nearly 20 months. As their dementia/Alzheimer's worsened Walnut were able and willing to adapt to their ever-increasing need without complaint. The carers were kind, courteous and compassionate which allowed my parents to continue living together at home safely and with dignity. I have no hesitation in recommending Walnut to anyone else.
