It was my first time leaving my Mum with Carers and I felt so at ease. The peace of mind was priceless. The team at Bluebird made everything so straight forward for Mum and I. Mum had such great care for the 7 days whilst I was away and I will certainly contact Bluebird again.

I have been delighted with the help received from Bluebird Care. Without exception the carers who came were lovely. They were helpful, cheerful and happy to do what was asked of them.
At the initial meeting all the information I needed was explained. Arrangements were very flexible and easily changed.
It was good to be able to speak with a real person each time I needed to phone. I was kept informed in good time of who the carers would be and the time at which they would come.
Our daughters arranged the care for my husband and myself while I was in hospital. I was my husband's carer and it was not known how much I would be able to do when I returned home. As it happened I was able to do more than expected and so we only had Bluebird about two months. I would not hesitate to ask for help from them again in the future if necessary.

Bluebird Care have been an absolute lifeline for me. They support my mum, who has Alzheimer's, by picking her up and taking her to a local club, sometimes out shopping, and bringing her home again. The service is wonderfully friendly and non-clinical - my mum doesn't even realise she's being cared for,
which is perfect for her dignity and independence.
Her carer is consistently patient, kind, and professional. It's clear she genuinely enjoys spending time with my mum, and that warmth makes all the difference. From the very first assessment through to the ongoing care, everything has been smooth, reassuring, and straightforward. I feel so supported and confident knowing my mum is in such good hands. I am just about to add some more care the the package already in place and will increase the care as time goes on. Thank you, Bluebird Care - you've given me peace of mind and made a real difference to our lives.

Mum has morning calls to help with personal care and really looks forward to her carer turning up. When Mum sees her arrive she waves her hands and has a big smile on her face.
Her carer brings warmth and kindness, along with a big heart full of happiness when she cares for my Mum. We are truly grateful
as it gives me a little reprieve and ensures Mum's needs are fully met.
We also benefit from the live-in carer package a few times a year, which is wonderful. As a family we get to spend time together and have some respite whilst Mum has a break from us! Mum is thoroughly spoilt with the attention she receives from two staff members in particular.
When we first contacted Bluebird Care we received clear communication and details on what they could offer. We have always felt listened to and our situation and the needs of the family understood. Another staff member is approachable and always returns messages. The care has always been provided regardless of sick leave and annual leave.
We would recommend Bluebird care.

I was in the dark regarding the care system, which was new to me, when it came to choosing a care company to meet my dad's needs. He came to live with us after being a resident in a care home for seven months but I was unable to provide personal care on my own. Following an initial meeting with the
supervisor and my dad, I went ahead and booked Bluebird Care. The whole team of carers who visit are amazing and I have every confidence in them. Nothing is too much trouble, arrive with a smile on their face and a cheery "Good morning". They make sure dad is comfortable before they leave. I have also used their 'sit in service' on a couple of occasions, whilst attending my own appointments. It is comforting to know that dad is being looked after and I can concentrate on myself for a while.

The team have been highly responsive to our changing care needs and has managed to make additional visits on all the occasions I have requested them, including to and from hospital appointments. As the sole family carer for my mother, this has been extremely valuable. My mother finds the Bluebird carers
very reassuring and kind. On the few occasions when I have had cause to comment on little lapses these have been dealt with immediately. Communication with the team is very good indeed.

The team of carers came to assist my husband (who has Alzheimer's and Parkinson's) and myself (after a total hip replacement op), from 15th June 2024. They have been a fantastic team of Carers who have shown so much care, compassion and friendliness to us both. They have been such a help to my husband
who enjoys walking with our daughter's dog. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Thank you very much. Would recommend Bluebird Carers to anyone who needs help.

We have been so impressed with the care provided to our elderly parents by Bluebird Care over the last two years since Mum and Dad moved to a care village and have needed between two and four calls a day to address their needs, including Alzheimer's. The carers administer medications and carry out personal
care and domestic tasks with compassion and patience. We are also so impressed with the management at Bluebird Care: the supervisor liaises closely with me and my sister ensuring we are aware immediately of any issues of concern and she works with us to resolve them quickly and effectively. She ‘knows’ our parents and has made such efforts to get to know and work with us. This is so crucial when you are relying on others to provide critical daily care to your parents without which they could not live independently in a care village in their own home in their late 80s. We cannot praise the supervisor enough for facilitating this and giving us the confidence to rely on her and her team to support our parents.

I am so impressed with their care and service, anything I ask they carry out. My sister's illness develops rapidly and her care needs increase but these are always met without any complaint by all the carers. They are a friendly team and really care about their patients. If things take a little more
time than is allocated the carers go above and beyond to meet my sister's needs. Their supervisors get back to you almost immediately and I am always aware when they are coming with a weekly schedule sent to me and the visibility of online whenever I need it.
The previous carers she had had case to complain regularly but I can rest easy with Bluebird and do not have any further stress about whether they will visit or not. Thank you Bluebird I am more than happy with your service and would recommend them to anyone.

Bluebird were responsive and sensitive and helped my aunt whilst she was recovering from surgery. We are all very grateful. They sat her down and worked within her needs and her budget.
When my aunt recovered and could manage her own personal care again, Bluebird were very flexible and remained supportive.

Bluebird kindly and willingly took me on after I had a bad fall causing a proximal humerous fracture of my leading arm, plus huge bruising in other places. I had been let down at the point of discharge from hospital by a care firm who had agreed to come each day from discharge until not needed, so 10/10
for Bluebird coming to my rescue!
I felt particularly lucky as I had continuity of carers, ie in the main, I was sent the same 3/4 girls each week, which makes life a lot easier as one didn’t have to explain everything from scratch each time. The carers were lovely to have about the place and were very willing to do any little job in addition to the personal care, which was the prime reason I needed them.
The staff at the office were brilliant in that there was no fuss if I needed to change a time for hospital visits etc., and the issue was dealt with on the spot. I would have no hesitation in turning to Bluebird again, nor in recommending them to others.

Bluebird carers have been visiting my father at home for more than three years. Knowing they visit and keep an eye on him when I can’t gives me enormous peace of mind. Some of the carers have been coming all that time so know Dad very well, and newer members of the team seem to learn quickly and provide
the same level of care. The administrative team are very responsive and always let me know if there’s a (very rare) problem with a scheduled visit, and have sorted any issues out quickly and professionally. I trust them all hugely and wouldn’t have been able to keep Dad in his own home for so long without them. As his care needs undoubtedly increase I’ll have no hesitation in discussing alternative care plans with them.

It took a lot of research to find the right care company and I'm so glad I chose Bluebird. Nothing is too much trouble for them and my friend has been treated with courtesy and dignity at all times. All my questions and requests are dealt with in a timely manner and I really can't fault the wonderful
service from both the carers and the office staff. My friend is absolutely delighted with all the carers and looks forward to their daily visits so she has someone to chat to. They do her washing, cleaning and food shopping. They get her up each day, dressed, showered or washed and then make breakfast and lunch and if time permits they'll take her out for lunch. As she often says to me, "What would I do without these kind and wonderful people?" At the early stages of her illness my friend made me promise to keep her in her own home and with Bluebird's help I feel really confident that I will be able to keep that promise.

Bluebird Care, Milton Keynes has some lovely carers with excellent communication skills and my family member really enjoys their visits. These carers take a genuine interest and will let me know if they have any ideas about ways we can improve my family member's quality of life - I really appreciate
this. The office staff are always kind and courteous and do their absolute best to provide consistency in the team of care staff - not an easy task in rural areas.

David Howard

Job Title: Director

Joined: 2012

After graduating from university many years ago with a degree in Law, David joined the Ministry of Defence where he performed many roles including spells in consultancy, policy advice, the press office and as the senior civil servant overseeing Schools for the children of British military schools overseas. In 2011, he led a team to reduce the size of the MOD civil service by 25% and as part of that work managed to devise his own exit, so that he could change career and open Bluebird Care (Milton Keynes). His interest in the care sector started several years earlier when his sister suffered a catastrophic accident which left her quadriplegic. David is married with two grown-up children, five grandchildren and a dog. Hailing from Wales, David enjoys all sports and has had a lifelong love affair with Liverpool Football Club, which has caused him enjoyment and heartache in equal measure.

Catherine grew up in Milton Keynes and lives in Newport Pagnell with her husband and three children. After graduating from the University of Liverpool with a degree in Modern History and Politics, Catherine worked in advertising sales for a London publishing house before travelling the world and then returning to university to study for a PGCE in secondary education.  She joined Bluebird Care in 2019 as an Assistant Director after working as head of the History department in a local secondary school for 10 years.

Kelly joined Bluebird Care in November 2023 as Deputy Care Manager, predominantly looking after the Northampton territory. She grew up in Cumbria before settling in Northampton in 2000. Kelly attended Northampton College completing a BTEC in Health and Social care and later went on to complete her level 3 NVQ. Kelly was a Quality Assurance Manager and then Deputy Manager for another care provider for nine years, undertaking many different roles and establishing herself in the private care sector.


Kelly took on the challenge of becoming Registered Manager for Bluebird Care Milton Keynes in December 2024 and is looking forward to her future within Bluebird Care. Kelly feels Bluebird is the perfect fit for her due to the shared ethos on person centred care and going the extra mile to make a difference to someone's life.


When not at work, Kelly is busy at home with her long-term partner, their two teenage daughters and two doggies!

Gemma joined Bluebird Care as a care assistant in September 2015, Although it was her first job in care, she quickly grew into the role. After returning from maternity leave in 2017, she volunteered to join the office team and became a part-time coordinator.  She later took on the coordinator role full-time, although she continued to provide care to some of her long-term customers.  


More recently Gemma has taken on the role of Supervisor which has seen her move away from day-to-day rostering, focussing instead on arranging and overseeing care for our customers. She is often the first person customers will meet from Bluebird Care as she carries out the majority of new care assessments.
