Bluebird Care (Cornwall Mid & West Cornwall) is the first to be rated 'Overall Outstanding' by CQC (March 2019) in Cornwall. They provide services throughout the mid and west Cornwall areas. This includes Lizard to Fowey, Lands End, Newquay, Penzance, Helston and St Ives, Falmouth, Truro and Roseland Peninsular, St Agnes and St Austell, and all areas in between.

They take the time to listen to all clients and place people at the heart of the service. With ongoing training of staff, Bluebird Care ensures continuity of care for all people.

Bluebird Care (Cornwall Mid) offers a choice of flexible homecare and support services to adapt to suit the needs of the client. The services include 2 hour home care visit to live in or 24-hour care, respite care, cleaning service and elderly care. This could be short term or continued care.

What an amazing team Bluebird Care are, they go above and beyond in all they do for my Mum and also myself. They are so professional, respectful and caring in everything they do. The whole team at Bluebird are great. The most person-centred care agency I have come across. The carers are very well supported by management which makes for great carers as they feel supported, valued and cared for themselves. Nothing is too much trouble. All of the team are there for us whatever
we may need. We are truly blessed to have them helping us.

Bluebird enables mum to live in her own home with some independence. They are so cheerful and efficient and Mum enjoys the daily visit. They manage her washing, housekeeping and personal care, which is a great comfort. I know she is safe, comfortable and cared for in the truest sense.

The Bluebird carers continue to arouse my admiration of both the organisation and the carers as individuals. The ladies have been caring for my wife since before Christmas and always arrive on time in a cheerful manner, which not only reflects their training but their attitude and commitment to their
calling. The most difficult task for me is to nominate "carer of the month". They all deserve the title, every month.

We are very happy with the care we receive from Bluebird Care.
The carers are excellent, caring and very professional. I feel confident that my husband is well cared for, is listened to and treated with respect and dignity. The staff and management are always helpful. The fees are quite high but we
feel we are paying for quality, well-trained carers that really care for their clients.

Graham Curruthers

Graham’s background is in business, where he trained as an architect and ran a busy Architectural practice, before using his management expertise to build and run a national charity in outdoor education and training.


He likes to support vulnerable people, and now uses his business and problem solving skills to ensure the Bluebird Care team are resourced and equipped to deliver high quality care for our customers.


Graham also wants to build strategic partnerships across the private and public sectors, to provide joined up services in Health and Social care, which are innovative and cost effective in meeting individual needs for the most vulnerable people.


Outside work Graham likes sailing, has been walking the Cornish Coast path with Carol, and is involved in community life through local church and club activities.

Carol Curruthers

Carol is passionate about care in the community with 30 years NHS experience as a Health Visitor working with elderly, families and children. She loves to meet individual needs, finding solutions and bringing relief to improve quality of life for those who need it most.


Her second love is for teaching and mentoring, passing on her knowledge to a generation of student Nurses, Health Visitors and now Care Workers, encouraging them to provide the high standards of care she expects of herself.


She also has practical management expertise, working in multi-agency Health and Social Care teams, to encourage joined up services which can deliver high quality, person-centred care throughout the community.
