I have been with Helping Hands for 3 years, and they have been very good to me. I don't know where I would be without them. They have taken care of my personal care as well as odd things around my home.

Overall, service very good; however, there have been a few occasions when we have had cause to ring the office to ask staff to remind carer of duties on the care plans.

We are pleased to hear that overall you find the service very good, and we are grateful for your honest feedback regarding the occasions where you needed to contact the office to request reminders around care plan duties, which we will pass on to the local branch.

The kindness and consideration for my Dads care needs , was always at the forefront of all discussions and action. I cannot praise the carers and managers enough for their thoughtful and compassionate interventions. I felt very confident that Dad was being looked after really well, and knew he would never be let down . They always turned up. Went above and beyond. Above all , Dad was really happy with the service he received from helping hands . Thank you

We only have good things to say about the Chipping Sodbury team of Helping Hands. Thank you for caring for my mum.
We are delighted to hear that your mums review was carried out professionally and that all her needs and care plan were discussed and updated in depth. It is wonderful to know that, alongside...
2. Engaged well with my mother.
3. Suggested activities that carers can support with.
4. General background information for carers - Mother's interests.
5. Listens to my mother when speaking.
6. Provided in the package, gave information about counselling service, etc.
On coming out of hospital, after a lengthy stay, mom's rehabilitation company fell through. Emergency service was provided matching mom's normal package as much as possible. A particular staff member came out to complete a re-assessment of needs and to put new tasks in place. Very impressed.
We were treated with respect and listened to. My dad raised a question about having the same carer, if possible. This was answered and addressed.
A full explanation of terms and conditions was given to myself, as I had not met you before.
Plenty of time to ask questions.
Everything very good.
The carers who visit Dad on a regular basis are fabulous, he trusts them so much that he has asked for them when he feels ill, they help him feel settled and confident. The office staff are very easy to deal with, good communication all round, always keep me up to date with information passed on by his carers.
Husband has dementia and Parkinson's. He therefore needs continuity of care and his carers need patience and understanding of his situation. The carers therefore are a regular team and I can't fault the care they provide.
I have very good support from Helping Hands Chipping Sodbury.
The carers were very good and helped my dad to get up, wash and give him his breakfast. He has some complex disabilities and they adapted things to fit in with him.
They also left him lunch and put him to bed at night. He was very well cared for.
Many thanks.
Very efficient and friendly review covering all aspects of care for my uncle.

Meet the Team (1)
About me
As the Registered Manager for the Chipping Sodbury Branch, my role requires me to have operational oversight of the service. I am responsible for ensuring that the service is safe and compliant with the current regulations and that we not only provide the best possible care but that we provide care that is person-centred.
I feel that my team, whether office-based or community-based, work in a professional manner and holds our customers at the heart of everything that we do. I have a very skilled team of carers that have a genuine love for their role.
In my spare time, I am a Cadet Forces Adult Volunteer with the Royal Air Force Air Cadets and enjoy providing opportunities to young people that they may not have access to with other youth organisations.
My experience and expertise
I am a qualified Social Worker and spent years working in both children's services and Adult Services. I was fortunate enough to work my way up to the roles of assistant Team manager and Team Manager. I was responsible for strategic decision-making within Fostering Teams, the training of newly appointed Foster Carers and the supervision and management of Social Workers. I have also worked within residential services for both Children and Adults.
In my younger days, I served with the Royal Air Force and have been heavily involved with the Royal Air Force Air Cadets since 1991.
I have a Ba(Hons) in Social Work, am a qualified Archery instructor and am a Commissioned Officer with the Royal Air Force Air Cadets.
I made the career change to care in 2017 and have worked in management roles since then.
Why I chose Helping Hands
I chose to join Helping Hands because I agreed with the company ethos of life being better at home for our customers and I am passionate about providing the best possible levels of care.
I look forward to us being able to support even more individuals to remain at home with the support and care that they need.
I enjoy working with a professional and very capable team.
