First Point have been providing care for mum for a couple of years now. In all this time I have never found them anything other than professional and caring whether it's the carers themselves or management team. I have witnessed the encouragement and kindness they show to mum in getting her to do things she doesn't particularly want to do but needs to do for her health and wellbeing whilst also respecting her dignity and independence. If there's anything amiss in her home like when her heating and kettle weren't working they will always inform me or are very proactive and went straight out to get her a kettle. Whenever there's been any problems with her medication they have contacted the pharmacist and promptly resolved the issue even picking up once when it wasn't delivered. Without their due diligence mum's health would be effected so it's reassuring to me as I live far away to know mum is cared for.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave a review for us - thank you. It's good to hear such lovely feedback for our carers, we will pass this on and I am sure they will be so pleased. Thanks so much! Sharon
My 97 year old mother continues to live in her own home and this is helped by daily visits from cheerful, caring people who check mum is up, dressed and coping with the day. All members of Firstpoint from administration to daily care act with compassion, integrity and honesty in often challenging circumstances. My sister, who lives away and I really appreciate the daily reports on the App which are very reassuring. Thank you.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, we really appreciate it. We will make sure your positive feedback is passed on to our carers. Thank so much, Sharon
All staff treat me with respect and dignity. I am very happy with all my carers.
My mam suffers from scoliosis of the spine which causes increased pain and suffering when in bed for too long a time on her back. The company knew this and we had requested the soonest opportunity to have an earlier morning getting her up time slot which we'd waited patiently for several months to become available. The bed time call was a very early 6:30pm. The company gave us the earlier call which although described at 8:45, was typically 9:15. However, after only the space of two weeks on this improved schedule, they placed mam back on a far later second run that calls in at quarter to ten, but they never even bothered to discuss the changes with us at all and then they even gave the earlier slot to someone else without discussion or conversation which I found extremely inconsiderate and highly cruel of the company, knowing the harm it would do to my mother. Feel treated like rag dolls tossed and messed about at their whim. They are thoughtless and callus and don't communicate.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are truly sorry to hear about your concerns regarding the timing of the calls. We understand how important it is for your mother's care to be tailored to her specific needs. We strive to offer the best possible care and would like to discuss...
In my view the carers we are having are pleasant and cheerful, always ready to talk and share jokes with us.
I am really pleased to hear that the care staff that support you cheer you up with jokes and are always chatting to you. I will make sure that they all read this. Thank you for your kind words.

Meet the Team (3)
Sharon joined Firstpoint Healthcare in June 1999 as the on-call manager. She has worked in the care sector for over 30 years. Sharon then became the nursing manager in the Birmingham branch overseeing a team of 10 recruitment consultants who were looking after different specialities of nursing. Sharon was promoted to Regional Manager in 2008 and then Operations Director in 2011.
When Sharon was promoted to Director she took on the responsibility of running the Homecare division and became the Responsible Individual for CQC.
In 2014, due to its size, the Healthcare division was split and Sharon took over the role of Operation Director for the Homecare division. She has a passion for working with people in the community and ensuring that they can live as independently as possible in their own homes for as long as possible.
In September 1997 she attended University to complete her adult nursing qualification. During this time she became pregnant with her 3rd Child and sadly had to leave the course.
Sharon lives in Bidford on Avon with her husband, 3 children and two dogs, whom she loves taking for long walks. She attends the gym regularly and loves to read in her spare time.
Anne joined Firstpoint Homecare in March 2021 as a Field Care Supervisor moving to the role of Registered Manager in January 2023.
Anne has a 42-year history within the health & social care sector, however, this has predominantly been in Mental Health, she worked for many years in an acute Psychiatric admissions ward before moving to Addictions & running a lottery-funded prescribed Heroin injecting clinic in Darlington.
Anne had her own 'Cheese & Wine' shop for a couple of years, which she says was brilliant (but financially not great). Before joining Firstpoint she worked within Dementia care & learning Disabilities. Anne says how her role as a Registered Manager has its ‘challenges’ but is rewarding, and her previous skills & knowledge come in very handy at times!
Sarah first started working in the care industry 33 years ago. She worked for her local council for 24 years with children and later adults with learning disabilities. Sarah left this position after gaining more qualifications and has been a registered manager for a mental health unit for adults and then a domiciliary home care company.
In January 2023 Sarah joined Firstpoint Homecare as a business development manager and then took up the role as a branch manager. Sarah loves her role and developing the Darlington branch and looks forward to the future of the business.
In her spare time Sarah likes to spend time with her family and go out walking, sadly only shorter walks these days with her elderly dog.
