I have used Home Instead for the last 4 years. Originally for my husband who suffered from Alzheimer's, he could be a very difficult patient but the 2 carers who came (separately) always managed to calm him. Since my husband died the same carer's come to help me with household chores and shopping as I suffer from chronic arthritis. They are extremely hard-working, understanding, and helpful. Always on time and very reliable and show great kindness.

It's been a pleasure getting to know you and your husband over the years. I know our carers look forward to their weekly visits with you. Thank you for your review and kind words.

I would like to thank all the carers at Home Instead Whitefield for looking after my mum in her final weeks. Every carer treated her with respect, dignity and kindness.
Over the last few years, Mum needed help getting to and from her hospital appointments, which Home Instead also helped with, and Mum came to become friends with them over this time.

I can highly recommend all the carers who looked after my mum and am forever grateful for their help and support.

Home help was provided to my elderly parent with a mixed dementia diagnosis. I had noticed medication had stopped being taken (my mother took her own, with reminders). One of the care workers was seen informing my mother that she was just suffering from short term memory loss, which was normal for her age when my mother had said she had been told she has Alzheimer's.
When this incident was discussed with the manager, the manager saw no issues with what the care worker had said as, in her words 'this complied with the dementia training, to avoid confrontation'.

I didn't feel the service was appropriate in this instance and clarification of their interpretation of the dementia training should be sought.

The training given to CAREGivers is City & Guilds accredited. It has met with the approval of the Alzheimer’s society in the UK, it is recognised as being the best in class in USA, were it was developed to support our work force throughout the world.

The same training is offered free to anyone and...

Always the same carer for you at your home, not different carer's like other agencies. The companionship, service, care, warmth, understanding and patience given from all the carers, staff and management at the Bury Home Instead agency was nothing more than anyone could have asked for.
They looked after my brain diseased (Huntington's) mother at her home for over three years.
They took time to understand her needs but also got to understand her past life to better understand to find empathy to get to know her.
Their patience with her debilitating brain disease was exceptional.

Fully recommend Home Instead Bury.
