b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.
The maximum Review Score for a Home Care Provider is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:
a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.
The Average Rating of 4.800 for Be Caring Newcastle is calculated as follows: ( (24 Excellents x 5) + (6 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 30 Ratings = 4.8
b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').
The 5 points available are broken down as follows: 3 points for the first Positive Review, 2 points in total for each of the next 9 Positive Reviews (1st = 3, 2nd = 0.5, 3rd = 0.5, 4th = 0.25, 5th = 0.25, 6th = 0.1, 7th = 0.1, 8th = 0.1, 9th = 0.1, 10th = 0.1)
The 5 points relating to the number of Positive Reviews for Be Caring Newcastle is based on 5 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as follows: 3 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 4.5
When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

Job Title: Operations Manager
Joined: 2012
I transitioned from a career in retail to homecare when my children no longer needed childcare—and I haven’t looked back since. Over the past 13 years, I’ve built my experience across every level of homecare: Care Worker, Senior Care Worker, Visiting Officer, Care Coordinator, Service Manager, and now Operations Manager for the North East.
I hold a Diploma in Management in Health and Social Care, which has been key to developing my leadership skills and supporting our teams. I believe homecare is one of the most rewarding roles in our society—helping people stay independent and thrive in their own homes.
What really drives me is our people. I’m incredibly proud of the dedication and professionalism of our staff, and I know that by empowering them with the right training and support, we deliver the outstanding care our clients deserve.
Job Title: Service Manager
Joined: 2019
Hi, I'm Kerry! I began my career in care in 2019 as a Support Worker, after my children had grown up it was the right time to start something for myself.
Although I was new to the sector, I quickly found a passion for the work and a desire to grow within the field. After just nine months, a Team Leader position became available. I applied, not expecting to be successful due to my limited experience, but I was thrilled when I was offered the role. Just seven weeks later, a Coordinator position opened up, and I decided to go for it—driven by my commitment to progression and my growing confidence. I was successful once again and remained in that role for four years, gaining invaluable experience and deepening my understanding of care services.
In June 2024, I was promoted to Service Manager. This journey has shown me that in the care sector, especially with the right organisation, your voice is heard and there are real opportunities for progression. I’ve felt continuously supported, and my passion for making a difference has only grown stronger.
Job Title: Regional Trainer
Joined: 2012
My care journey began back at university, where I was studying Environmental Engineering and needed a flexible job. I started supporting a single client and quickly discovered how rewarding it is to make a real difference in someone’s day.
After graduating, I moved to the UK with plans to work in engineering, but my early care experience led me back to the sector—I’ve now been in domiciliary care for 18 years, including nearly 13 with Be Caring. Over time I’ve built lasting relationships with clients and colleagues across the North East.
Last year I stepped into the role of Regional Trainer, which has been both intensive and incredibly fulfilling. I love passing on what I’ve learned—whether it’s practical tips in the field or best practices on person-centred care—and watching colleagues grow in confidence.
Alongside my university degree, I hold an Advanced Level Apprenticeship in Adult Social Care, a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care, a Level 3 Understanding Dementia, and a Highfield Level 3 Award in Education and Training. I’m always eager to learn more and bring fresh insights back to our team.
Job Title: Care Coordinator
Joined: 2020
I jumped into care during the COVID lockdown when the nursery I worked at closed, and I’ve never looked back. Shortly after, I welcomed my baby boy and took maternity leave, then returned eager to dive back in.
Since joining Be Caring, I’ve worn a few hats: Care Worker, Administrator, Recruitment Officer, and now I’m proud to serve as Care Coordinator. Every day brings new challenges, but it’s incredibly rewarding to see our team and clients thrive.
I’m currently sharpening my leadership skills at a manager’s bootcamp and can’t wait to keep growing within Be Caring. The support here is fantastic, and I feel lucky to be part of such a dedicated team.
