Over all time Amicus Homecare Ltd has 30 reviews.
The only reason I didn’t give them the full 5 stars was due to the new manager, who lied to me twice.
I think the directors should get out to the clients and do 1 day of shifts to see what the carers have to deal with like traffic etc.
The managers are supposed to let you know if there’s a change in your schedule or if the carers are going to be late that rarely happened and I personally asked for my schedule to be sent for the next week, on a Friday but sadly the supervisor didn’t send it until a couple of days later. Again as we all know however hard the agency tried, they just didn’t have enough carers.
I would like to thank them for their wonderful work and care and would highly recommend them.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review. The team is grateful for the overall score you gave us (5 out of 5 in three of the 5 areas and 4 in another) and for the several positive points you raised about our service such as the fact you were "impressed with my care." I'm sorry you felt let...
This was a stressful time and we didn't know what to expect. The manager was incredibly helpful. She took time to get to know Mum and offered a very friendly, very professional approach. We started with a high level of support and have slowly reduced this so that Mum is now well enough and confident enough to manage without care. Amicus provided a very personal approach and as a family, we appreciate everything that was done.
Care is really expensive (which is a separate and difficult social/political issue) but Amicus' fees are competitive and their genuine willingness to adapt to changing needs puts them way ahead of the other companies we contacted.
Mum is managing incredibly well at the moment so no longer needs daily care. If this changes at all Amicus will be the first company we contact for support.
A great small agency with a fantastic manager who goes out of her way to communicate and help in what can be a difficult situation for everyone adjusting to new routines. The team of carers is kept small to allow for continuity and carers have been very kind, helpful and reliable.
I don't live close by and the manager has gone out of her way and gone above and beyond with everything involving my mother. She has been a source of help, support, and guidance for me especially, but she is not on her own. She has an amazing team of carers who work with her. I have had 12 months of care with other care agencies and I have seen how little they do, when Amicus carers came in, I see them taking the time to talk to my mother, to help her with her exercises making an effort to engage her in positive purposeful conversation.
Today, my mother fell, I was 200 miles away, I rang the manager and with no hesitation she dropped everything and went straight over there.
Amicus always put my mother first, the manager and her team always put clients first, and this gives me peace of mind.
Well done to the manager and your amazing team “your awesome”
Incredible service. Staff are all warm and kind but also very efficient. Management is excellent and attentive, my father is treated as an individual and always with great respect and dignity. I can't recommend them highly enough and am so grateful for their presence in Dad's life. He likes them and trusts them and it's such a relief having such a consistent and supportive service. A weight off my mind knowing they are coming, both my parents look forward to their visits because their arrival always means positive and joyful company, as well as kind and professional support for my father.
I am very satisfied with the service I am getting from my present carer who is always willing to do jobs around my flat and garage in addition to looking after me whilst in the shower.
Amicus Homecare Ltd provided an early morning service from 7.45am for half an hour or 1 hour by agreement, One member of their staff helped me get out of bed, wash and dress. When time allowed we would turn out my bedroom chests to remove items that were out of date and no longer used, making room for items that fit better. The different staff members came working on their own. All were punctual and cheerful, giving a good start to the day. and it was good to chat about the weather and the state of the shops, the government when I was in lockdown.
The carers were very polite and very caring with my brother in law even though he was a bit of a grump. They all looked after him so well and couldn't do enough for him. They always made time to sit and chat to him too even though they had a tight schedule.
The client due to age and lack of upper body strength needs assistance with bathing which is beyond the wife's strength and there is a fear of slipping. All the carers have been prompt on arrival time and have been careful to follow lockdown regulations. They follow a careful bathing routine and follow the client's wishes. Overhead charges are reasonable. Paperwork is filled in after each visit.
Staff always arrive, no matter what the weather is doing. Whenever there is a need for a phone call, they always start by saying "nothing to worry about " which is always reassuring. Always very friendly. Good at communicating,
