The Sensiway team provided care for my mother in her own home right up to her death. As things changed this was needed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The team created a homely atmosphere, welcoming visitors and providing the social interaction Mum valued, while at the same time dealing professionally
with her, sometimes complex and challenging, medical and physical needs.
This friendly yet professional approach made it possible to adapt plans as Mum’s needs changed in a style that engaged her wishes and growing frustrations yet minimised her stress levels.
Mum got to know the members of the team well and built up confidence in them, both individually and collectively. This created a positive atmosphere even when Mum was going through the more difficult phases of her decline.
The team maintained good communication with the family, discussed dilemmas and kept us well informed - even in the small hours, for example, when an ambulance was called.
